Job Purpose:
Support and governs cloud financial management practices to ensure cloud spending is transparent, controlled, and aligned with organizational financial objectives.
The role enables cost visibility, budgeting, forecasting, and optimization by providing reporting, cost allocation mechanisms, and advisory to application teams, platform engineering, and cloud operations teams to improve cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support and maintain cloud cost governance policies, financial guardrails, and usage controls to ensure responsible cloud consumption across teams.
· Configure and manage cloud budget alerts to monitor spending and notify stakeholders when consumption approaches defined thresholds.
· Publish and maintain cloud cost dashboards and reports to provide visibility into cloud spend, consumption trends, and cost drivers.
· Support cloud cost budgeting and forecasting based on historical usage patterns, growth projections, and planned cloud adoption initiatives.
· Implement and maintain cloud cost allocation and showback mechanisms to attribute cloud spending to assets, departments and applications.
· Analyze cloud usage patterns and identify opportunities to optimize resource consumption and reduce unnecessary spend.
· Provide cost optimization recommendations to application teams (FITB/ FITB-A) and cloud operations team to improve efficiency of cloud resource usage.
· Evaluate and recommend commitment-based pricing options such as Committed Use Discounts (CUDs) based on workload usage patterns.
· Support the purchase and lifecycle management of commitment-based discounts to maximize cost efficiency and financial predictability.
· Work with cloud platform engineering and cloud operations teams to enforce cost governance controls and improve cost visibility through tagging.
· Maintain documentation and financial governance artifacts related to cloud cost management policies, reports, and optimization practices.
Support annual departmental financial planning and budgeting activities.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is required.
Master’s degree in MIS, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
Years of Experience:
3+ years in a relevant industry, preferably with majority in IT financial operations, budgeting and cost allocation
