We're looking for a Senior Software Verification Engineer who is passionate about software quality, automation and technical excellence. This is more than a testing role.

You will be a trusted technical leader who helps ensure our products are reliable, safe and ready for release, while driving the future of verification and test automation across our engineering teams.

If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, building scalable automation frameworks and influencing engineering decisions through evidence and expertise, we'd love to hear from you.

What you will do

As a Senior Software Verification Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of innovative software products from concept through to release.

You will:

  • Shape the verification strategy for complex software features, releases and product areas.
  • Design and implement robust automated tests that provide confidence in product quality.
  • Challenge requirements early to ensure they are clear, testable and aligned to customer needs.
  • Investigate complex defects, system behaviours and quality risks.
  • Partner closely with Software Engineers, Product Owners, DevOps, Quality and Technical Leaders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Use your expertise to influence release readiness decisions and product risk management.
  • Help evolve our automation frameworks, tools and engineering practices to support faster, smarter and more effective verification.
  • Create formal reports of the verification results
  • Review test code changes from developers

Drive the future of test automation

Automation is at the heart of this role.

  • You'll have the opportunity to design and enhance automated verification solutions using C++, C#, Python, PowerShell and other modern technologies, improving both the speed and confidence of software delivery.
  • You'll work on scalable frameworks, CI/CD integration and advanced testing approaches that support high-quality product development in a highly regulated environment.

Lead through expertise

  • This role offers the opportunity to become a recognised technical leader without moving into formal people management.
  • You'll mentor and coach fellow engineers, review verification approaches, promote best practices and help raise the technical capability of the wider team.
  • Your ability to influence, collaborate and make sound engineering judgments will be just as important as your technical skills.

What you'll bring

We're interested in talented engineers who combine strong software verification expertise with a passion for continuous improvement.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in software verification and quality engineering.
  • A strong background in test automation and automated framework development.
  • Experience with C++ and/or C# and the ability to understand production software.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell.
  • Experience designing and executing complex software verification activities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when investigating defects and system failures.
  • Experience working with CI/CD environments and modern software development practices.
  • The ability to guide technical discussions and influence outcomes across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Master’s or PhD degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline (or equivalent). For candidates with degrees obtained outside Belgium, a formal recognition process may be required as part of the hiring journey. Support will be provided.

Nice to have

You'll stand out if you have experience with:

  • Medical device software development.
  • Embedded or connected-device products.
  • Hardware-software integration testing.
  • Hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Test harnesses, simulation environments or mock frameworks.
  • Verification tooling, infrastructure and automation framework architecture.
