Sobre esta vaga de Senior Software Engineer, Prediction Markets Platform na Crypto
About the team
We build the platform that lists and settles event contracts on our CFTC-regulated exchange. That covers sports, crypto, and other real-world events.
Our systems take in data from several sports and market providers, turn each event into tradeable contracts, and settle them correctly once the event ends. Settlement moves real money, so correctness and auditability matter as much as speed.
We are moving the platform from Python and Airflow to Go services built around Postgres. You’ll help decide what the new platform looks like.
What you’ll do
- Own the design of Go backend services that list and settle event contracts around the clock.
- Lead the move of business-critical workflows from Python/Airflow to Go services and durable job processing, without breaking live markets.
- Design pipelines that take in data from multiple providers, match the same event across them, and reconcile differences accurately and idempotently.
- Build settlement logic that holds up when things go wrong, including:
- Late or corrected results
- Cancellations
- Voided markets
- Provider outages
- Race conditions
- Write and review design docs, set engineering standards, and lead technical decisions across teams.
- Mentor engineers through code review, pairing, and design feedback.
- Take part in on-call, lead incident response, and remove the causes of recurring incidents.
- Work with trading, operations, compliance, and product teams across time zones.
What we’re looking for
Required
- 5+ years building and running production backend systems, with ownership from design through on-call.
- Strong skills in Go, or deep experience in another backend language plus a clear willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Deep Postgres knowledge, including:
- Schema design
- Migrations
- Query performance
- Transactions
- Isolation levels
- Experience designing distributed systems, including:
- Concurrency
- Idempotency
- Retries
- At-least-once processing
- Failure handling
- A record of leading projects that span teams and making sound architecture trade-offs.
- Clear writing, good judgment, and comfort when requirements are unclear.
- Experience with prediction markets, sportsbooks, exchanges, or sports data feeds, such as OpticOdds, LSports, StatsPerform, or Sportradar.
- Experience with ledgers, payments, settlement, or other systems where money is on the line.
- Redis, Kafka, or Postgres-backed job queues such as River.
- Python and Airflow experience, which would help with the migration.
- React/TypeScript.
- AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Experience in regulated environments, such as CFTC/DCM, FINRA, or similar.
- Startup or zero-to-one experience.
