Sobre esta vaga de Senior Product Designer na Hatch
Join the Rest Revolution
The world is wired and tired. It's plagued by screens, notifications, and the sense that you should always be doing ... something. But hey, you're reading this job application right now, so you probably know exactly what we're talking about.
So here's a bit of good news amidst all the noise: Hatch is a sleep wellness company that's betting on rest in a culture obsessed with optimization. While most technology is designed to keep you engaged, our devices use the science of habit formation to help people unplug, unwind, and recharge. Through genuinely enjoyable routines, habit building, and gentle guidance (no sleep scores or wearables here), we help people build healthier sleep habits and feel the difference in everyday life.
More than a decade ago, we started with a mission to help parents navigate the complexities of newborn sleep. Today, we're helping more than 5 million people (and counting) take care of themselves and the people they love through the power of rest.
We’re open to candidates across the U.S. and Canada. However, please note that Hatch is based in California, so we just ask that you're available during PST/PDT hours.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Product Designer with a passion for sleep health and a strong UX mindset: someone who looks beyond the screen to define what we should build and why. You will be working on the evolution of Hatch Sleep Clock, our flagship adult product.
Join our growing team as we dream up new experiences that leverage our unique ecosystem of hardware, software, and content, working to define the sleep space as an essential part of overall health and wellness. As a Senior Product Designer at Hatch, you'll be an individual contributor on the adult products team, leading UX for new and evolving features that help adults fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up rested.
You'll shape features from the earliest stage: framing problems, synthesizing research, mapping end-to-end journeys across app and device, and turning insights into new member journeys and experiences. You'll pair that strategy with hands-on design, partner closely with product and engineering to scope and ship features, and help build the product design practice at Hatch. You'll collaborate with our stellar design, product, and engineering teams and play a big role in shaping the creative culture at our company.
What You’ll Do
Within 1 month:
- Build a solid understanding of our adult device ecosystem, the science of adult sleep, and our customers by digging into existing research, feedback, and usage data.
- Form strong collaborative relationships across the design team, PMs, and engineering teams.
- Identify the biggest UX opportunities and gaps in the adult product experience and share a point of view with the team.
Within 3 months:
- Lead UX for one or more features from problem framing through launch, working closely with PM and engineering partners.
- Design and ship your first responsive sleep experience; working closely with PM and Engineering partners and taking advantage of Hatch’s contactless sleep tracking technology.
- Discover, define, and implement new customer journeys and experiences.
- Plan and run research and prototype testing at varying levels of fidelity, and turn the findings into clear decisions.
After 6 months:
- Take on larger, more ambiguous feature work, using what you've learned about our adult customers to shape what we build next.
- Build on your learnings and design system work to develop and launch new-to-the-world features and products.
- Actively contribute to infusing creativity, play, and learning into our team culture.
What You’ll Bring
- Passion for human-centered product experiences and for solving ambiguous problems.
- 5+ years of hands-on UX and product design experience, with a portfolio that shows strategic thinking and the process behind the work, not only polished UI.
- Demonstrated ability to define problems and shape product direction: framing opportunities, mapping journeys, and making the case for what to build.
- Strong research skills: planning and running studies and turning findings into clear decisions.
- Experience leading UX for features end to end, from concept to launch, in partnership with PMs and engineers.
- A strong understanding of UX and UI best practices in mobile applications, including accessibility.
- Ability to turn concepts into functional prototypes for testing and alignment.
- AI-native in how you work: you've built AI into your own design process, prototyping with code and generative tools, and you can show how that changed what you shipped, not just how fast you shipped it.
- Clear communication: storytelling, thorough design documentation, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
- Excitement about working in a fast-paced environment.
- Big bonus if you have experience in consumer facing products, IoT product development, or designing for adult audiences.
