We're seeking someone to join our Threat Hunt Cyber Detection Platform team as a Senior Platform Engineer in Cyber Data Risk & Resilience division. Threat Hunt’s mission is to seek out attacks against the Morgan Stanley network, to engineer detection strategies, and to reduce risk to Morgan Stanley assets.

This is a Senior Platform Engineer position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for providing specialist cyber expertise and creating solutions that protect the organization's systems and networks against actual and potential security threats and vulnerabilities.

What you’ll do in the role:
Providing and enriching operational support. Responding to alerts on critical services and developing procedures for troubleshooting and escalating to SMEs.
Maintenance and support of Platform Systems, including advising, planning and implementing strategic solutions within the Threat Hunt technology Stack.
Troubleshooting and Remediation of infrastructure issues at the hardware and software levels, local network configuration, firewalls and beyond.
Serving as a point of contact for internal and external clients to the team, integrating new solutions, onboarding users, and managing core services for the wider platform userbase.
Collaborating with other internal teams via support platforms for hardware maintenance and remote remediation.
Providing on-call support on a scheduled basis to facilitate a follow the sun support model with our global team.
What you’ll bring to the role:
5+ years’ experience in a Platform, DevOps, Security Engineering, or similar role with transferable skills.
A relevant bachelor’s degree (otherwise 9+ years relevant experience), and strong problem-solving skills.
Applied development experience with Python and scripting with bash to automate repetitive tasks.
A deep understanding of server hardware, Linux operating system (Red hat/CentOS preferred) and enterprise networking, including troubleshooting firewalls, network switch, and system configuration issues.
An Ability to work with a broad variety of technologies like Ansible, infrastructure as code solutions, OS configuration & deployment tooling
Experience with container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes) and orchestration tools
A good understanding of DevOps Principles, and experience building and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines.
A solid understanding of Security concepts, and their applications.
Ability to work in a team as individual contributor
Strong communication skills, ability to participate in a team-oriented, fast-paced Agile environment with a desire for continuous learning & development
Other nice to have experience:
Prior experience working in a Security team – an understanding of cyber analytics is desirable.
Experience working with both on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
Proficiency with Git for version control.
Experience with patching and updating infrastructure from system BIOS, firmware, drivers, kernels to operating system, applications, databases etc,
