Job Description:

• Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.
• The main responsibilities of this position is to plan, direct and manage all the daily manufacturing activities within DePuy Synthes Suzhou Plant and to ensure the approved products are manufactured on schedule to comply with all the legal/regulatory requirements and all the EHS requirements, meet all quality requirements and to achieve all the cost objectives.
• Ensure the operations compliance with all the legal/regulatory requirements
• Ensure all J&J EHS policies, procedures and programs are implemented throughout the all the production activities.
• Chair the Safety workplace/Safety meetings.
• Actively participate in the Safety Committee.
• Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are thoroughly investigated and corrective actions are completed on schedule.
• Assume role of Emergency Response Coordinator when required.
• Ensure all production associates are trained with requried EHS procedures and policies.
• Ensure all EHS requirements are fulfilled in accordance with the responsibilities defined in the Company Safety Statement.
• Responsible for the management of Environmental and Health and Safety aspects/risks associated with the Manufacturing Operations and responsible for the identification of the Environmental, Health & Safety aspects/risks associated new product or process introduction.
• Ensure the compliance with the requirements of China GMP, ISO13485, 21CFR820 and other relevant regulatory requirements
• Ensure all the responsibilities defined in the Quality Manual are met.
• Promote a quality-focused culture within the Business cell teams and ensure all the GMP requirements are adhered to
• Establish world-class housekeeping standards within the production dept.
• Manage, motivate and develop staff in a manner that will facilitate high performance in line with the leadership imperatives of J&J.
• Continuously improve the communication channels such as: Daily Production meetings; escalation meeting, VSM meetings; weekly Operations meeting; Monthly EHS/GMP meeting, etc.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and a clear identifiable work ethos within the Production cells or dept.
• Identify Training Needs of Staff and Opportunities /assignments for Development to maximize their potential. To improve whole team ability
• Act as mentor both on a formal and informal manner.
• Ensure adequate tools are in place to effectively manage manpower.
• Actively participate and assist in selection and recruitment of new employees.
• Develop and build sufficient and flexible production capabilities to support changing demand
• Complete performance appraisals and mid-year reviews in a timely manner.
• Ensure absence, late and ER issues are managed by staff in a fair and reasonable manner in line with company policies, Credo values and Standards of leadership.
• Develop both team and individual goals and objectives and measure actual performance against them, providing timely and honest feedback on performance even in difficult situations.
• Develop and maintain a Credo based culture within the Product dept.
• Keep Plant Manager and other members of the Management Lead Team informed of ER issues and concerns in a timely manner.
• Create opportunities to reward and recognize success of teams and individuals.
• Foster a customer focus culture within Production dept.
• Ensure the all the training are completed on schedule
• Prioritize production in line with Customer service requirements.
• Work with planning function to eliminate/minimize backorder and safety stock concerns.
• Hold people accountable for the results of production department
• Implement Company Business Plan Objectives within product dept.
• Strive to consistently exceed Product dept. results.
• Reduce cost of manufacture on a year-by-year basis
• Actively encourage, promote and facilitate implementation of innovative solutions to ensure quality while delivering lower costs and shorter lead times.
• Co-ordinate Production requirements in conjunction with Purchasing/Planning, Engineering and Quality in an efficient and effective manner.
• Recommend Capital Investment in Production Equipment as appropriate.
  Monitor production processes and the effective use of manpower and equipment.
