Job Description

The Senior Module Capacity & Material Planner is responsible for developing and executing capacity and material planning strategies to support module manufacturing operations across outsourced assembly and test (OSAT) partners. This role ensures alignment between customer demand, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory positioning to achieve revenue, delivery, and operational objectives.

The successful candidate will drive supply-demand balancing, capacity optimization, material readiness, scenario analysis, and planning process improvements while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business Units, and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity Planning & Management

• Develop short-, mid-, and long-term module capacity plans to support customer demand and business growth.
• Analyze capacity utilization across assembly, test, and critical manufacturing resources.
• Identify capacity bottlenecks and develop mitigation plans with internal factories and external manufacturing partners.
• Drive resource-level capacity management and loading strategies to maximize throughput and on-time delivery.
• Support quarterly, annual, and strategic capacity planning exercises.
• Monitor capacity commitments versus demand forecasts and recommend corrective actions.

Material Planning & Supply Management

• Develop material plans for package substrates, leadframes, wafers, die, passive components, and other critical BOM materials.
• Ensure material availability supports production requirements while optimizing inventory levels.
• Identify material shortages, excess inventory, and supply risks; lead recovery and mitigation actions.
• Coordinate closely with suppliers and procurement teams on material supply commitments and constraints.
• Manage die bank and inventory visibility to support capacity loading decisions.
• Drive inventory health improvements through excess and obsolete reduction initiatives.

Demand & Supply Alignment

• Translate demand forecasts into executable production and material plans.
• Balance customer demand, capacity constraints, and material availability across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Support allocation decisions during constrained supply situations.
• Conduct supply-demand gap analysis and develop recovery scenarios.
• Drive planning reviews and communicate risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to stakeholders.

Analytics & Reporting

• Create and maintain planning dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.
• Perform scenario modeling and what-if analysis for demand changes, capacity expansions, and supply disruptions.
• Develop data-driven recommendations to improve equipment utilization, inventory turns, service levels, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor planning performance metrics including:
  • Capacity utilization
  • On-time delivery
  • Material coverage
  • Inventory health
  • Forecast accuracy
  • Supply-demand gap closure

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Business Units, Quality, and Logistics to resolve supply chain issues.
• Lead planning discussions with OSATs, subcontractors, and key suppliers.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for planning systems, tools, and processes.
• Mentor junior planners and contribute to planning best practices.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of planning experience in semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or high-tech industries.
• 3+ years in capacity planning, material planning, supply planning, or production planning.
• Experience supporting outsourced manufacturing and OSAT environments.
• Experience managing complex BOMs such as module and multi-site manufacturing networks.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of semiconductor assembly, test, and module manufacturing processes.
• Expertise in supply-demand planning methodologies.
• Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder/JDA, Kinaxis, or equivalent.
• Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and data analytics capabilities.
• Strong quantitative modeling and scenario-analysis skills.

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence across functions without direct authority.
• Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor packaging, advanced packaging, or module manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of wafer planning, die banking, assembly/test capacity planning, and supplier management.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing operations across Asia, Europe, and North America.
