Role Summary:

This role is an opportunity to lead the development of visualizations and customer-focused insights that accelerate technology adoption, utilization, and customer return on investment. This role combines deep Power BI expertise and business intelligence to help identify unmet customer needs, improve technology utilization, and demonstrate measurable customer value.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working with data engineers, business stakeholders, sales teams, technology representatives, and customers to turn data into compelling stories that influence decisions and drive outcomes.

What You Will Do (Job duties):

Data Visualization & Business Intelligence

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision making.
• Create intuitive visualizations that clearly communicate complex business trends, opportunities, and performance metrics.
• Develop executive-level scorecards, KPI reporting, and self-service analytics solutions.
• Ensure visualizations follow best practices for usability, accessibility, performance, and business impact.

Customer & Technology Analytics

• Analyze customer technology adoption and utilization data to identify trends, barriers, unmet needs, and growth opportunities.
• Translate machine, customer, and business data into actionable recommendations that improve customer outcomes.
• Quantify the impact of technology solutions on safety, productivity, efficiency, and return on investment.
• Identify leading and lagging indicators that measure technology adoption, customer engagement, utilization, and business performance.
• Collaborate with data engineering, digital, commercial, product, and field teams to build scalable analytics solutions.
• Mentor analysts and business partners on Power BI development and visualization design.

What you will have (Core skills):

Value Realization: Knowledge of value realization methods; ability to plan, execute, monitor and manage business activities and resources to determine and achieve the actual value from a business initiative as estimated in an associated business case.

Communicating Complex Concepts: Knowledge of effective presentation tools and techniques to ensure clear understanding; ability to use summarization and simplification techniques to explain complex technical concepts in simple, clear language appropriate to the audience.

Agile Development: Knowledge of agile methodologies and the agile development lifecycle; ability to utilize formal agile methodologies, disciplines, practices and techniques for the delivery of new and enhanced applications.

ETL Process: Knowledge of the extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) process; ability to develop a database through the ETL process.

Information Management: Knowledge of an organization's existing and planned Information Architecture and Information Management (IM) methodology; ability to collect and manage information from different sources, and distribute this information to enhance operational efficiency.

Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects: Knowledge of data, process and events; ability to use tools and techniques for analyzing and documenting logical relationships among data, processes or events.

Top candidates will also have:

• Extensive experience developing business intelligence, data visualization, and analytics solutions.
• Advanced Power BI expertise in data modeling, DAX, dashboard design, executive reporting, and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data storytelling skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective reporting and analytics solutions.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Experience analyzing technology adoption, customer utilization, digital products, connected assets, or telematics data.
• Proficiency with Snowflake or Python.
• Experience in customer or aftermarket analytics, equipment technology solutions, or industrial markets.
• Knowledge of KPI development, value realization, forecasting, and performance measurement.
• Experience creating customer-facing insights and compelling data-driven presentations.

Additional Information:

• This position is located in Mossville, IL.
• Relocation assistance is available.
• Visa sponsorship/ISE are not available.
• Travel in this position is up to 10%.
• Required to work onsite 5 days a week.

Summary Pay Range:

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
