Job Summary: 

The Senior Marketing Manager - Korea is a hybrid role based in Seoul, Korea. This role is responsible for all aspects of marketing which can help increase overall brand awareness in Korea, improve retention rate, while continuously acquiring new customers in the market. This includes ownership of iHerb’s presence on key Korean marketplaces such as Naver and Coupang. 

This role will drive positive impact on the Korea growth strategy, working at both the strategic level and tactical level. The Senior Marketing Manager - Korea will be responsible for forming new partnerships and managing local agencies, while optimizing our current marketing channels such as influencers, Social, affiliates, OOH and day to day management, as well as collaborating with cross functional team members internally as well as externally with the partner’s teams.

Job Expectations:

• Manage and own the relationships with local advertising and PR agencies, including briefing, performance management, and budget accountability, on how we can improve relevancy in this market

• Oversee end-to-end success of creative and new campaign launches; marketing/promotions, campaign localization, local program operations, customer service, and local marketplace communications

• Own and manage iHerb’s presence and performance on Korean marketplaces, including Naver (Smart Store, Brand Store, Naver Shopping), Coupang, and other relevant platforms (e.g., Gmarket, 11st, Kakao), spanning store operations, merchandising, promotions, and local marketplace communications

• Explore new channels, form new partnerships, and optimize current marketing channels such as influencers, Social, affiliates, and OOH to enhance visibility with key focus on growing our customer base

• Coordinate and lead PR & Events for the local market

• Report daily, weekly results and progress against sales plan. Analyze reports for the market, translate findings into insights and actionable growth tactics

• Manage and allocate marketing budgets across various channels and initiatives, ensuring strategic investment and maximizing ROI

• Work with the central CRM team on how we can optimize our rewards program to further build loyalty

• Proactively research partner and marketplace sites to ensure accuracy and delivery of our content, while continuously looking at ways to improve our brand position

• Support the Korea team to define commercial strategies and trade marketing calendar to accelerate sales for the region

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:         

• Proven understanding of the Korean e-commerce landscape, including marketplace ecosystems such as Naver and Coupang, and genuine passion for digital marketing. 

• Passionate Marketing expert continuously staying updated with industry trends, experiments with new strategies, and continuously optimizes campaigns to achieve the best possible outcomes.

• Self-starter with experience managing projects from inception to completion.

• Data-driven with a proven track record of turning insights into action.

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with leadership and cross-functional partners.

• Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task

• Must be fluent in Korean and business level English

Equipment Knowledge:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of 10 years of e-commerce experience.
 

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience.
 

Judgment/Reasoning Ability:  Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.  Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.
