About the role
We’re looking for a highly adaptable, growth-minded Senior Designer to join our Brand & Creative team. Your primary focus will be lifecycle and email marketing, designing the experiences that engage, convert, and retain our customers at every stage of their journey. You’ll also support broader brand and company needs, so you’ll have the chance to flex your craft across channels.
You won’t just design assets; you’ll immerse yourself in the data, audience, and goals behind each program to create thoughtful, high-performing creative that moves the needle. You’ll work closely with growth marketers, lifecycle strategists, writers, and product teams to understand what’s needed, then deliver polished, on-brand solutions built to perform, and to be tested, learned from, and improved.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the visual development of email and lifecycle marketing, designing engaging templates, modular layouts, graphics, and dynamic content that drive acquisition, activation, retention, and conversion.
- Partner with growth and lifecycle marketers to plan, design, and iterate on experiments (A/B tests, new formats, personalization), using performance data to inform creative decisions and continuously improve results.
- Build and maintain scalable, flexible design systems for email and lifecycle that allow the team to ship faster without compromising quality or brand consistency.
- Design a high volume of performance-driven growth content, from concept to execution, including landing pages, social and digital ads, affiliate creative, and animations.
- Support brand and company needs as they arise, including decks, company materials, event collateral, and new product launch assets, ensuring every touchpoint feels consistent, elevated, and tailored to its audience and platform.
- Apply and evolve the Ethos brand across key marketing channels, working with the Creative Director and broader Brand team to keep our identity cohesive as we grow.
- Partner closely with marketing, growth, and product design teams to craft compelling visual stories through thoughtful use of iconography, typography, photography, animation, and infographics.
- Take initiative in shaping strategic design direction, proactively pitching and executing ideas that align with business objectives and improve the customer experience.
- Lead high-impact projects from brief through execution in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing speed, quality, and adaptability.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5-8+ years of experience in marketing design, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong conceptual thinking, visual craft, and performance-driven work
- Expertise in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Deep understanding of marketing funnels, audience segmentation, and channel best practices, particularly email and lifecycle
- Experience designing for experimentation, with a data-informed mindset and comfort using metrics (open rate, CTR, conversion, retention) to guide creative
- Proven experience designing conversion-oriented marketing materials that balance craft and performance
- Demonstrated ability to lead design projects end-to-end, from insights and ideation to execution and iteration
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to clearly explain design decisions
- Skilled in storytelling, visual hierarchy, and audience-first thinking - able to clearly communicate complex ideas with clarity and impact
- Comfortable working across multiple product types and customer segments, and shifting between lifecycle growth work and broader brand projects
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with growth, marketing, and product teams, building strong relationships and aligning creative to broader business strategy
- Thrives in a fast-paced, feedback-rich environment with shifting priorities and evolving goals
- Highly organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly
- Attentive to design details
- Receptive to feedback and collaborative in an iterative design process
- Experience in DTC, fintech, or financial services industries preferred
