Within Digital R&D Creation Center, the Veeva RIM team is responsible for defining the strategy and leading the delivery of the Veeva RIM product suite to end users. This includes the operation, implementation, and integration of Veeva RIM solutions that address R&D business processes effectively. At Pfizer, Veeva RIM product suite includes all modules including Registrations, HA Correspondence, Submissions & Publishing.
The Snr Manager, Veeva RIM Integration Manager, is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for coordinating release readiness and lifecycle management for a complex portfolio of 60+ upstream and downstream integrations supporting Pfizer’s Veeva RIM product suite. This role combines project management, stakeholder communication, and technical integration understanding, including knowledge of the Veeva RIM data model and how data model changes impact integrations and consuming systems. The role works closely with Product Management, Business Owners, Business Process Owners, Regulatory Operations, technical teams, Quality, validation partners, integration owners, consuming application teams, and vendors to manage release impacts, data model changes, remediation needs, cutover readiness, and operational handoffs in alignment with Agile, SDLC methodologies.
Role Responsibilities:
Integration Portfolio and Project Management
• Accountable for coordinating visibility, readiness tracking, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment across a portfolio of 60+ upstream and downstream Veeva RIM integrations spanning consuming systems, business processes, data flows, and stakeholder groups.
• Serve on a SAFe Agile team and contribute to PI planning, backlog refinement, sprint execution, and management of Veeva RIM release impacts, dependencies, risks, issues, readiness status, cutover activities, and operational handoffs across the integration landscape.
• Accountable for ensuring downstream consumers, upstream source systems, and Business Process Owners have clear awareness of upcoming release scope, timing, data model changes, process impacts, testing expectations, cutover needs, and required actions.
• Accountable for developing and managing release communications, Business Process Owner updates, consumer impact summaries, readiness checkpoints, escalation messages, and post-release follow-up.
• Accountable for tracking timelines, milestones, dependencies, action items, decisions, and stakeholder status reporting to keep integration work aligned to Veeva RIM release commitments.
Technical Integration and Remediation Coordination
• Accountable for coordinating with integration owners, consuming application teams, technical leads, platform teams, and vendors to ensure technical issues, root causes, remediation plans, and readiness risks are visible and actively tracked.
• Apply practical understanding of the Veeva RIM data model, APIs, middleware, ETL patterns, file-based integrations, SSO, data mapping, data model impacts, error handling, monitoring, and operational support to coordinate technical discussions and decisions.
• Accountable for facilitating alignment with technical teams responsible for remediating impacted consuming systems to confirm readiness, track remediation progress, resolve dependencies, and support smooth cutover for Veeva RIM data model or integration changes.
• Technical design and remediation activities are performed by the accountable technical teams; this role coordinates impact assessment, readiness tracking, communications, and cutover alignment across those teams.
Testing, Validation, and Operational Readiness
• Accountable for coordinating functional, integration, regression, user acceptance, cutover, and operational readiness testing across impacted systems and consumers.
• Partner with Quality, validation, testing, engineering, consumer teams, and vendors to ensure integration changes meet SDLC and CSV expectations, including requirements traceability, test evidence, defect management, and release approvals.
• Accountable for maintaining key integration and release materials, such as integration inventories, consumer impact matrices, interface specifications, data flow diagrams, release checklists, runbooks, decision logs, environment matrix and support handoff materials.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting integration delivery for enterprise platforms; experience with Veeva Vault and/or Veeva RIM integrations is strongly preferred.
- Experience coordinating complex integration work across upstream systems, downstream consumers, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholder groups.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, milestone tracking, dependency management, risk/issue management, release readiness tracking, and stakeholder status reporting.
- Strong communications skills, including the ability to create clear release communications, Business Process Owner updates, consumer impact summaries, readiness updates, escalation messages, and executive-ready status updates.
- Practical understanding of the Veeva RIM data model and integration concepts, including APIs, middleware, ETL patterns, file-based integrations, SSO, data mapping, data model impacts, error handling, monitoring, remediation coordination, and operational support.
- Experience with Agile delivery, SDLC controls, release governance in a regulated environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Regulatory business processes and/or working in the Life Sciences industry.
- Experience with SAFe, Scrum, or formal project management practices; relevant certification such as SAFe, Scrum, PMP, or similar is a plus.
- Veeva Vault certification(s) and/or experience with Veeva RIM, multi-vault deployments, integration inventories, consumer impact matrices, release checklists, cutover planning, and operational runbooks.
