Meet the team:
The Direct Materials Sourcing team is a group of category experts responsible for building resilient supply networks, securing qualified capacity, managing total cost, enabling new product introduction, and reducing supply risk. This Sr. Manager will lead Dexcom's Electronics and Contract Manufacturing sourcing organization, with accountability for category strategy, supplier capacity and continuity, commercial performance, lifecycle and obsolescence management, component-level risk, contract strategy, cost productivity, and supplier readiness across current and future Dexcom product platforms. The leader will connect semiconductor and component manufacturers, authorized channels, Tier 2 and Tier 3 suppliers, and contract manufacturers into an integrated supply strategy aligned with Dexcom's product roadmap, commercial demand, and long-range growth scenarios.

· Validate supplier capacity claims against demonstrated output, yield, OEE, equipment, labor, materials, lead times, planned expansion, and recovery assumptions rather than relying solely on stated nameplate capacity.
· Lead electronics sourcing through product transitions and lifecycle events, including G7-to-G8 migration, supplier ramp-up and ramp-down, last-time buys, inventory exposure, shelf life, obsolescence, alternate-source qualification, and end-of-life execution.
· Serve as the accountable commercial integrator across Planning, R&D, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supplier Quality, Operations, Finance, Legal, Supply Chain, and NPI for electronics sourcing decisions.
· Partner with technical and operational teams to improve design-for-supply, component selection, manufacturability, supplier readiness, validation planning, launch execution, and continuity throughout the product lifecycle.
· Establish market-intelligence and risk-management mechanisms for lead times, allocations, PCN/EOL notices, obsolescence, counterfeit risk, fab and assembly/test constraints, geopolitical exposure, tariffs, single-source dependencies, and industry-driven raw-material constraints.
· Translate supplier and component risks into executable mitigation plans covering safety stock, protected inventory, alternate qualification, capacity protection, contractual safeguards, and executive escalation.
· Drive a repeatable cost-productivity pipeline using should-cost, clean-sheet, open-book, value engineering, total cost of ownership, alternate sourcing, conversion-cost improvement, process productivity, packaging/logistics, and supply-base leverage.
· Quantify sourcing opportunities and exposures using annualized financial impact, investment requirements, timing, return, implementation risk, inventory liability, and total-cost tradeoffs.
· Structure commercial agreements that protect Dexcom on supply assurance, capacity, allocation, inventory, safety stock, excess and obsolete material, volume commitments, pricing, productivity, change control, transition support, and business continuity.
· Distinguish forecasts and planning assumptions from approved commercial commitments and ensure material supplier decisions, obligations, and protections are documented and enforceable.
· Create fact-based executive recommendations that clearly separate confirmed facts, assumptions, evidence gaps, decisions, tradeoffs, financial exposure, supply risk, accountable ownership, and execution milestones.
· Position Strategic Sourcing as a competitive advantage for Dexcom through technology access, supplier innovation, resilient supply, competitive product cost, disciplined governance, and speed.
People leadership:
· Set clear priorities, measurable objectives, ownership, operating cadence, and escalation expectations for the electronics sourcing team.
· Coach category managers on strategy development, electronics value-chain knowledge, negotiations, contracting, executive communication, supplier governance, and cross-functional influence.
· Build category-specific capability through structured development plans, standard work, sourcing playbooks, succession planning, and deliberate knowledge transfer.
· Develop category managers who can independently lead complex supplier negotiations, executive reviews, risk decisions, and cross-functional sourcing strategies.
· Create a high-performance, collaborative environment where issues are escalated early, commitments are followed through, and decisions are supported by a trusted single source of truth.
