The role oversees service delivery, platform operations, vendor and licensing relationships, user adoption, roadmap planning, and continuous improvement while developing team capabilities and maximizing the value of the organization's data and analytics technology investments.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Director, Data & AI Platforms and Technology, you will be empowered to:

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the strategy, operations, support, and lifecycle management of enterprise analytics and customer data technologies, including Power BI, Alteryx, ArcGIS, IBM WatsonX, RecordPoint, the Customer Data Platform (Treasure AI), and associated services. Ensure platforms are secure, reliable, available, and meet business and service standards, with trusted customer data supporting analytics, marketing, customer insights, and decision-making.
  • Develop and deliver technology roadmaps, enhancements, and continuous improvements that modernize capabilities, strengthen service quality, increase adoption, and maximize business value. Manage vendor relationships, licensing, support contracts, renewals, escalations, and technology investments to keep services supported, cost-effective, and aligned with evolving organizational needs.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of Data Technology Specialists, setting clear priorities and performance expectations while supporting technical growth and fostering an inclusive, collaborative, service-oriented team culture.

SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure supported technologies meet organizational security, privacy, information governance, records management, and regulatory requirements through effective controls, processes, and oversight.
  • Collaborate with business partners, technology teams, vendors, and leaders to understand priorities and align technology capabilities with business objectives. Establish, monitor, and share service performance indicators, adoption measures, and platform usage reports to inform decisions and continuous service improvement.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, software license optimization, workforce planning, and resource allocation to make effective use of technology investments and operational resources.

PEOPLE LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Coach and mentor team members, set clear goals and expectations, and support performance, career development, and a positive employee experience. Create individual development plans, connect people with learning opportunities and practical resources, and provide guidance on organizational processes and navigating uncertainty.
  • Provide operational direction, allocate work to align with team objectives and individual capabilities, and monitor quality and results. Partner with People and Culture on recruitment, interviews, assessments, recognition, promotion, and performance management, ensuring resourcing decisions support departmental priorities, manage costs, and deliver value for the Province of Ontario.
