Job Description:

Senior Manager, Brand and Marketing (Sponsorship)

The Senior Manager, Brand and Marketing (Sponsorship) is a key member of Sun Life Hong Kong’s Brand & Marketing function. The role is responsible for developing and delivering strategic sponsorships and external partnerships that strengthen brand awareness and equity, deepen engagement with Clients and communities, and support sustainable business growth. The successful candidate will identify high-impact opportunities, build strong partner relationships, and lead integrated activation programmes from strategy through execution and measurement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sponsorship strategy and portfolio management

• Develop and execute Sun Life Hong Kong’s sponsorship and external partnership strategy in alignment with brand, marketing and business priorities.
• Identify, assess and recommend sponsorship opportunities based on strategic fit, audience relevance, brand impact, commercial potential, risk and return on investment.

2. Partnership development and management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with rights holders, organisations, industry bodies, agencies, vendors and other external partners.
• Lead partnership negotiations, commercial discussions and contract development, working closely with Legal, Compliance, Risk and  Procurement.

3. Integrated activation and delivery

• Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of sponsorship activations, events, campaigns and engagement programmes across paid, owned and earned channels.
• Translate partnership assets into compelling brand and business activation plans in collaboration with Digital Marketing, Distribution, Communications and other internal teams.
• Ensure all executions comply with Sun Life’s brand standards, governance requirements and operational controls.

4. Performance, budget and project management

• Define clear objectives, KPIs and measurement frameworks for each sponsorship; track performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Manage budgets, timelines, resources, agencies and vendors to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
• Maintain robust project governance, documentation and risk management across multiple concurrent initiatives.

5. Stakeholder engagement and leadership

• Influence and align cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders on sponsorship strategy, investment priorities and activation detail plans.
• Provide clear updates, recommendations and post-programme evaluations to management.
• Coach and guide team member and sponsorship partners, fostering strong collaboration and high standards of execution.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in sponsorship, external partnerships, event management and/or integrated marketing, with a strong track record of leading complex projects.
• Proven experience developing sponsorship strategies, evaluating opportunities, negotiating partnerships and delivering end-to-end activations.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, budgets, timelines and stakeholders.
• Commercially minded and data-driven, with the ability to define KPIs, assess performance and translate insights into action.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Strong judgement, attention to detail and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
• Experience in insurance or financial services is preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Cantonese. Fluency in written and spoken English.
