The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) plays an important role in supporting students across their academic journey, from admission and matriculation to graduation and beyond the classroom. Working closely with schools, colleges, and other partners across the University, SASD helps to create a seamless, enriching, and student-centred experience at NTU.
Within this broader mission, NTU Library, under the Office of Information, Knowledge and Library Services (OIKLS), provides essential learning, research, and collaborative environments that support the University community. We are looking for a Senior Librarian, Academic Engagement to strengthen academic engagement, research support, and curriculum services by building strong partnerships with faculty, researchers, postgraduate students, and academic departments.
The successful candidate will deliver high-value reference, literature, and research support services; promote the effective use of social media metrics and outreach analytics; apply emerging technologies such as Generative AI to improve service delivery; and oversee course reserves and curriculum support services to ensure timely, compliant access to course readings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead NTU Course Reserves and curriculum support services, including faculty engagement, reading-list workflows, service standards, copyright compliance and platform enhancements.
- Lead and enhance Social Media Impact Metrics services, overseeing platforms, researcher profiles and engagement data, and advising faculty and research staff on their interpretation and use.
- Plan and administer reference, literature and research support services, including access to specialised databases, datasets, statistics and market intelligence resources.
- Evaluate and implement Generative AI solutions and digital workflows to strengthen team capabilities and improve reference and research support services.
- Build sustained partnerships with faculty, researchers, Schools and Colleges through targeted engagement, consultation, training and scholarly outreach initiatives.
- Assess teaching, research and resource needs to recommend relevant library services, programmes and acquisitions aligned with curriculum and research priorities.
- Deliver systematic search and review consultations, training and outreach, applying agreed quality standards to search strategies and service outputs.
Requirements
- Degree in any discipline; MSc in Information Studies, MLIS, or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- At least 7 years of professional working experience in academic, research, or special libraries.
- Good subject knowledge across disciplines and familiarity with research resources, external data services, research databases, and literature review methodologies.
- Knowledge of social media impact metrics, data analytics, AI literacy, digital fluency, and copyright requirements in library or educational settings.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, collaboration, time management, and project management skills.
- Service-oriented, curious, adaptable, and able to work independently and collaboratively in a changing environment.
