ABOUT THE ROLE

Saxbys is more than a cafe company — it's an Experiential Learning Platform. Every Saxbys cafe is operated by a Student CEO who runs the location as a real business, and it's our Tier 1 cafes — new cafe openings and underperforming locations — where that experience is either built or broken.

As our Senior Leadership Training Manager, you're first and foremost a people leader: you'll recruit, coach, and manage a team of 6+ Leadership Training Specialists, holding weekly 1:1s and a weekly team meeting to develop each of them toward their next role as a New Market Leader or Area Operations Manager. You'll pair that leadership with hands-on execution — leading Grand Openings from the ground up and setting the tone for preparedness and accountability at the cafe level by leading from the front. This is a hands-on, traveling role for someone who thrives on building people as much as building systems.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

• Development Pod Ownership: Maintain documentation, prioritize missions, and manage action plans for the Development Pod, ensuring every Tier 1 cafe's needs are tracked and addressed.
• Grand Opening Execution: Own the on-the-ground execution of Grand Opening plans, training delivery, and cafe set-up — bringing Saxbys culture and brand standards to life at every new cafe.
• Leadership Training Specialist Development: Recruit, onboard, coach, and manage a team of 6+ Leadership Training Specialists, developing each into a future New Market Leader or Area Operations Manager.
• SCEO Camp Execution: Partner with the Senior Operations Implementation Manager and L&D team to plan and execute SCEO Camps, from budget and travel logistics to on-the-ground delegation.
• Guest Recovery: Own day-to-day guest recovery ticket response and resolution through Zendesk, meeting 24-hour response standards while building your team's ability to handle it themselves.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

• 100% of Tier 1 cafes move to Tier 2 within 6 months
• Leadership Training Specialists promoted into New Market Leader or Area Operations Manager roles within 6–18 months
• 30% of each new cafe roster trained to Level 4 (Team Lead) within 2 weeks of opening
• 100% of Grand Opening milestones hit on schedule, every time
• 95%+ timely completion on Cafe-Level Training, with 95%+ satisfaction on the post-badge survey
• 100% of guest recovery tickets answered same-day, with 95% resolved within the 24-hour standard

WHO YOU ARE

You're a people manager first — someone who genuinely enjoys developing others, with a track record of managing a team of multiple full-time team members, holding them accountable, and coaching them toward their next role. You've spent real time in four-wall food and beverage or retail operations — enough to know what it takes to run a location and hold a team to a standard under pressure. You're a pattern-matcher and a root-cause thinker: when something breaks at a cafe, you don't just fix it, you figure out why it happened and put a plan in place to stop it from happening again. Ideally you've also run large-scale trainings or events like Grand Openings or camps — the kind of experience that means you can walk onto a chaotic Grand Opening floor and bring order to it. Saxbys experience is a strong plus.

WHAT'S REQUIRED

• Support, exhibit, and promote Saxbys' Mission and Core Values in all daily activities
• Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, with a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends
• Physical requirements: able to stand, walk, and smile for extended periods, stoop and kneel, push/pull/lift up to 35 lbs, and ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and ramps
