About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Enterprise Risk Officer within Corporate Risk, Wells Fargo's second line of defense. This role provides independent oversight of risk-taking activities, establishes and maintains the risk management program, and offers challenge and independent assessment of the frontline's execution of risk management responsibilities. The officer manages risk according to the Risk Management Framework and ensures all employees understand their individual accountability for managing risk. The position is part of a global team responsible for oversight across multiple risk disciplines, including operational, credit, compliance, financial crimes, and model risk management. In this role, you will:

• Provide independent oversight, challenge, and credible risk management guidance across unsecured products and enterprise risk activities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership by influencing enterprise risk, governance, reporting programs, strategic priorities, and long-term business objectives.
• Oversee the development and execution of large-scale, complex, and cross-functional risk, governance, and reporting initiatives that require innovation, strategic thinking, and sound judgment.
• Ensure adherence to the Risk Management Framework, company policies, regulatory expectations, and the Code of Conduct while promoting a strong risk culture.
• Partner effectively with business leaders, Audit, Legal, regulators, and other stakeholders to address risk-related issues and drive sustainable solutions.
• Deliver meaningful risk insights and reporting to executive management, committees, and the Board of Directors to support informed decision-making.
• Provide vision, direction, and expertise on governance, policy implementation, enterprise initiatives, and organizational effectiveness.
• Lead, mentor, and develop teams by fostering collaboration, sharing candid feedback, delivering training, and driving accountability for results.
• Use data, analytics, and critical thinking to identify risks, solve complex problems, and develop actionable, long-term solutions.
• Promote a culture of integrity, inclusion, respectful challenge, and continuous improvement while encouraging diverse perspectives and high-performance standards.
• Demonstrate personal accountability, ownership, and urgency in delivering commitments, resolving issues, and simplifying processes while maintaining strong risk controls.
• Influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization to align priorities, execute strategic objectives, and drive enterprise-wide risk management outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Risk Management experience (Compliance, Financial Crimes, Operational Risk, Audit, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, IT Systems Security, Business Process Management) or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  

Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years of strong programing skills in Python/SAS/SQL with hands on experience handling large datasets
• 5+ year of statistical analysis and good understanding of Machine Learning techniques
• Experience in managing originations/account management decision engine strategies
• Good understanding on P&L drivers for credit card/other unsecured lending products
• Knowledge and understanding of databases and data mining techniques
• Deep understanding of risk frameworks, controls, and regulatory expectations. 
• Ability to effectively challenge business decisions and influence senior leaders across the organization. 
• Strong capability to leverage data, identify emerging risks, and drive risk-informed decision making.
• Proven track record with hands on experience in business analytics and strategy recommendation
• Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
