About the job 

As a trusted advisor to the Group IT CIO and the Group IT Leadership Team, you help shape our strategic direction. You translate enterprise strategy, business dialogue and external market insight into clear direction for how Group IT prioritizes, invests and operates. You report to the Head of CIO Office. 

Job responsibilities 

• Evolve the Group IT strategy, aligning it with Sandvik Group strategy and enterprise objectives. 

• Own the strategic narrative, turning analysis into clear, persuasive material that senior leaders can act on and repeat. 

• Advise the CIO and Group IT Leadership Team on digital, technology and transformation decisions. 

• Lead strategic dialogues with Business Area CIOs and key stakeholders. 

• Analyze market intelligence, technology trends and peer practices, turning insights into actionable strategic direction. 

• Collaborate with Product Area Managers and Enterprise Architects to develop the Group IT technology vision and product strategies. 

• Work with colleagues in the CIO Office on our agile operating model, performance management, and communication, ensuring strategy, priorities and messaging stay consistent. 

Location 

This position is based in Stockholm or Sandviken, Sweden, and national and international travel may occur. 

Your profile 

You bring extensive experience from leading in-house or consulting roles in IT strategy, digital transformation, or enterprise architecture within complex, international organizations. A demonstrated track record of defining enterprise-level strategy, advising senior executives and translating strategic ambition into clear organizational direction is essential. Experience working across politically layered organizations is a strong advantage. 

Your background includes 

• A university degree in Business Administration, IT or Engineering. 

• Strong business acumen and the ability to connect IT direction with enterprise value creation. 

• Executive-level stakeholder management and influence across complex, federated organizations. 

• Experience from synthesizing complex information, producing decision-making materials and framing strategic trade-offs. 

• Experience of translating strategy into measurable outcomes, including OKRs. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. 

Strategic and intellectually curious, you build credibility with senior stakeholders while staying focused on business value. You navigate ambiguity with confidence, influence through collaboration and communicate complex topics with clarity. Long-term thinking comes naturally, balanced by a practical approach to execution.
