The Senior Associate, Investments role provides the operating backbone for FTI’s Investments function, with primary responsibility for the active investment portfolio. The role creates discipline across records, data, reporting, budgets, schedules, contracts, projects, and asset monitoring so leaders and Asset Managers can act on reliable information and keep complex work moving. The portfolio spans operating and financial investments, including EV charging, liquid-cooled Bitcoin mining, real estate, energy assets, and managed financial accounts. This is a practical role that combines office-based coordination and analysis with periodic site visits and hands-on support of asset and project execution.
Ideal candiate will have strong organizational and project coordination skills, with demonstrated ability to manage schedules, dependencies, documentation, and follow-through across multiple workstreams. Will have working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and basic investment or return concepts. Will have strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft 365 skills, with the ability to learn and maintain new systems, reporting tools, and structured data sets. Clear written and verbal communication skills and the judgment to work effectively with senior leaders, operating teams, vendors, and external partners as well as high attention to detail, strong ownership, and willingness to move between administrative coordination, analytical support, and practical operating work.
Additionally, it is preferred to have a well-rounded business background with experience in any combination of operations, finance, project coordination, administration, process improvement, or related work. A demonstrated adaptability and comfort shifting among analytical, administrative, project-based, and operational responsibilities as portfolio needs evolve. A strong curiosity and an ability to learn unfamiliar industries, technologies, and business models through research, hands-on experience, and guidance from subject-matter experts. Resourceful problem-solving, organization, communication, and follow-through across multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines. Strong practical proficiency with modern business and artificial intelligence tools to improve research, analysis, materials, and workflow efficiency. Prior exposure to investments, operating assets, energy, infrastructure, construction, data centers, digital-asset infrastructure, EV charging, or real estate is helpful but not required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Business, Operations, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Experience: 2 years of related experience.
Travel: 10%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains accurate, current portfolio records across assets, entities, contracts, vendors, ownership interests, approvals, key dates, obligations, and supporting documentation; own data quality, version control, and information management across systems, shared files, trackers, and reporting tools.
- Produces recurring portfolio and asset reporting, including operating and financial performance, project status, material risks, open actions, and upcoming decisions.
- Coordinates work across Asset Managers, Accounting, Energy Finance, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Operations, vendors, and external partners.
- Maintains project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, action logs, and issue trackers for investments and new asset initiatives.
- Monitors asset-level operating data and key performance indicators, identify missing or unusual information, and helps coordinate timely investigation and corrective action with the accountable owner.
- Supports contracting and transaction execution by gathering proposals and diligence materials, coordinating review and signatures, maintaining executed documents, summarizing key terms and dates, and tracking ongoing obligations and renewals.
- Maintains the investment and opportunity pipeline, coordinates information requests, organizes diligence materials and data rooms, and supports the preparation of Investment Committee and board-level materials.
- Coordinates meetings, vendor discussions, site visits, and other project activities; prepares agendas and materials, captures decisions, and drives follow-through on assigned actions.
- Visits operating and development sites as needed to verify progress, gathers information, supports commissioning or issue resolution, and strengthens the connection between portfolio reporting and field conditions.
- Improves and automates recurring workflows, reports, trackers, and controls to reduce administrative burden, improve visibility, and allow senior team members to focus on decisions and asset performance.
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
