Job Purpose
Lead the product development, design optimization, localization, and industrialization of the OFC platform in China for global markets. Manage and develop the local engineering team while Drive product competitiveness, performance, quality, and production readiness while working closely with global engineering teams to strengthen resource synergy and support OFC business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Business Support
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Application Engineering teams to understand market trends, customer needs, and application requirements.
- Translate VOC and regional market requirements into product specifications and development objectives.
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and product analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and product differentiation.
- Support product roadmap development and business growth initiatives.
Engineering Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the local engineering team.
- Set priorities, allocate resources, build technical capabilities, and drive execution excellence and LEAN NPD.
- Result-Oriented and drive NPD delivery with quality, time to market
Product Development & Localization
Lead OFC regionalization, design optimization, component localization, prototype development, and product validation activities to improve performance, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
Product Industrialization & Manufacturing Support
Support manufacturing readiness, pilot builds, production ramp-up, and technical issue resolution to ensure successful mass production and product quality.
Global Engineering Collaboration
Work closely with global engineering teams to leverage global resources, share best practices, align technical decisions, and support future product roadmap execution.
Educational and Professional Qualifications
+15 years (BS) or +10 years (MS) working experience in centrifugal compressors or turbomachinery.
Requirements and Attributes
- Experience with centrifugal compressors, oil-free compressors, or HVAC&R products.
- Knowledge of aerodynamic design, rotor dynamic analysis, Centrifugal compressor structure design and prototyping verification
- Results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Hands-on approach with strong execution capability.
- Innovation mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Strong capability in engineering knowledge development and knowledge management.
- Experience in Lean NPD, production ramp-up, and product industrialization.
- Customer and business-focused mindset.
- Effective decision-making in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership and team development capability.
- Ability to influence and collaborate across global organizations. Effective communication skills in English.
