Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Employee Benefits Coordinator to join our growing team! 

The Senior Employee Benefits Coordinator uses analytical expertise, knowledge, and skill to assist in all aspects of day-to-day client management as requested by members of the team.  The Senior Employee Benefits Coordinator provides analytical support and expertise to client teams in developing benefit strategies and meeting client goals and objectives and in selecting programs that best meet the client’s needs and financial requirements. The essential functions include skilled data analysis, drafting client reports, RFP development, marketing analysis, and vendor implementation. 

The qualified candidate must be knowledgeable with respect to the spectrum of employer-sponsored health & welfare related plans, including federal and state regulations that impact these plans. 

How You Will Contribute:   

• Under minimal supervision, collects, analyzes, and prepares information to facilitate requirements of client requests and/or support the activities of the client team; ensures that outgoing client deliverables are accurate and peer reviewed. 

• Manages assigned client team tasks such as Forms 5500, policy review, gathering monthly carrier reporting, and updating appropriate software with client information (e.g., BenefitPoint, AMS, etc). 

• Handles assigned portions of the project management relating to assigned clients. 

• Attends client meetings/conference calls regularly with team members. 

• Uses expertise and knowledge to provide guidance to, or gather necessary data for, clients on any day-to-day questions. 

• Attends Consultant and Vendor meetings and participates in internal and external training(s). 

• Responsible for independently managing components of project (tasks). 

• Accountable for assigned work product. 

• Accountable for meeting internal deadlines. 

• Proactively conducts research using own judgement and knowledge, skills, and expertise and produces financial analytics via collection, analysis and interpretation of data for client deliverables. 

• Develops rate and financial spreadsheets. 

• Develops and assists in the execution of client RFPs via compilation and analysis of RFP results and follow up with insurance carriers. 

• Reviews SPDs/contracts for technical accuracy. 

• Researches health and welfare compliance questions as necessary; works with the support of client team and other internal resources. 

• Senior Benefit Analyst does not directly manage any clients. 

Licenses & Certifications:   

• Life, Accident and Health Insurance License within the first 90 days of employment. 

Skills & Experience to be Successful:  

• BA/BS preferred. 

• 2+ years of health & welfare experience, meets majority of core practice competency-based skills. 

• Resourceful, proactive self-starter with the ability to think ahead. 

• Strong business acumen paired with intellectual curiosity. 

• Displays a commitment to professional growth and development; including training and mentoring. 

• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail. 

• Capacity to multitask, manage competing priorities with strong time management skills. 

• Develop critical thinking and analytical skills. 

• Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications. 

• Accepts responsibility and accountability for assigned projects. 

• Strong client service orientation and ability to respond to all communications effectively and in a timely manner. 

• Ability to work at a fast pace, both independently and in a team environment. 

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. 

Pay Range

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
