Sobre esta vaga de (Senior) Director, Strategic Alliances Enterprise Lead, ThermoFisher Scientific na argenx

argenx · Presencial · Gent, Belgium

Join us as we transform immunology and deliver medicines that help autoimmune patients get their lives back. argenx is preparing for multi-dimensional expansion to reach more patients through a rich pipeline of differentiated assets, led by VYVGART, our first-in-class neonatal Fc receptor blocker approved for the treatment of gMG, and with the potential to treat patients across dozens of severe autoimmune diseases.

We are building a new kind of biotech company, one that maintains its roots as a science-based start-up and pushes our commitment to innovate across all corners of our business. We strive to inspire and grow our company, our partnerships, our science, and our people, because when we do, we deliver more for patients.

The Director / Senior Director [TBD], Strategic Alliances serves as the Enterprise Lead for argenx’s partnership ecosystem with Thermo Fisher Scientific [TFS], acting as the enterprise owner, architect, and steward of a strategic relationship spanning clinical development and development operations, clinical supply interfaces, quality, and enabling functions. This role carries primary strategic accountability for the global relationship and works in close partnership with leaders across argenx and TFS to align intent, simplify complexity, and connect teams so argenx engages the partnership as one coherent enterprise alliance, not a fragmented, study-by-study set of interactions. The Director / Senior Director intentionally embeds integration, governance, innovation, quality, and value creation across the full partnership portfolio, enabling faster decisions, more consistent delivery, and measurable outcomes for patients while modeling the argenx Way of Partnering.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Partnership Leadership

  • Serve as the enterprise-level point of contact for the global TFS partnership, ensuring argenx shows up with one aligned enterprise voice across clinical development and operations, quality, supply interfaces, and enabling functions
  • Represent argenx as a thoughtful, engaged, and outcome-oriented partner protecting enterprise value by reducing fragmentation, eliminating misaligned asks, and reinforcing partnering behaviors grounded in empowerment, transparency, shared accountability, and the argenx Way of Partnering
  • Partner closely with the Breakthrough Partner (BP) Lead as a key senior stakeholder, ensuring alliance strategy, governance, priorities, and partner engagement are aligned with BP objectives and enterprise need

Enterprise Alignment and Connection

  • Act as an enterprise connector with end-to-end visibility across the TFS partnership portfolio, helping align argenx teams, communities, and leaders with partner capabilities in an intentional and coordinated manner

  • Clarify enterprise intent and priorities for TFS and across argenx, proactively identifying and resolving duplication, conflicting priorities, or misalignment across functions, regions, and delivery models

  • Enable effective, faster decision-making by establishing clear pathways (decision rights, escalation routes, and leadership cadence), shared understanding of roles, and alignment on desired outcomes across argenx and TFS

  • Establish and maintain strong working rhythms with the BP Lead to ensure visibility across TFS activities, timely escalation of cross-functional issues, and alignment on decisions that affect the broader partnership model

Value Creation, Innovation, and Growth

  • Co-create and evolve a multi-year alliance strategy and enterprise value narrative for TFS, linking argenx priorities with partner strengths and identifying opportunities for greater impact, scalability, and shared value

  • Develop a deep understanding of TFS capabilities across clinical operations delivery, patient recruitment, laboratory services, data and systems, quality, and global scale, translating those capabilities into practical models that help teams execute with greater clarity and speed

  • Support internal teams in moving from transactional engagement toward co-creation, repeatable innovation, and differentiated enterprise value, converting scale and spend into measurable acceleration, quality, and outcomes

  • Co-create an end-to-end partnership model with TFS that connects capabilities, governance, decision-making, and innovation pathways across the relationship, enabling TFS to engage argenx more effectively while helping argenx capture greater enterprise value, speed, quality, and scalability

  • Collaborate with TFS and the BP Lead to identify and prioritize future-facing innovation opportunities, emerging capabilities, and new partnership approaches that advance argenx’s business priorities and evolve the enterprise partnership model beyond today’s work

Required Capabilities and Experience

  • Extensive experience leading and evolving complex, enterprise-critical partnerships spanning multiple functions (e.g., clinical development/operations, quality, clinical supply interfaces, data/systems, and enabling functions) in a global, highly regulated environment

  • Strong enterprise mindset with the ability to operate beyond individual initiatives and shape long-term organizational impact through strategic partnerships

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future partnership needs, emerging operating models, and opportunities that enable sustained value creation and innovation

  • Proven ability to act as an integrator and catalyst—aligning diverse stakeholders and partner capabilities around shared intent, clear decision rights, and decision‑enabling governance

  • Track record of identifying opportunities for innovation, simplification, and growth through collaboration, co-creation, and enterprise learning

  • Ability to translate insights from individual partnerships into scalable enterprise improvements

  • Demonstrated cultural leadership, modeling curiosity, humility, transparency, and empowerment consistent with the argenx Way of Partnering

How This Role Operates at argenx

  • Acts as a trusted enterprise thought partner to argenx leadership and senior partner counterparts

  • Connects initiatives, conversations, and insights across teams that may not otherwise intersect

  • Helps teams and communities simplify complexity and focus on what matters most for enterprise and patient impact

  • Navigates trade‑offs with clarity, humility, and enterprise perspective

  • Demonstrates consistently that how we partner is as important as what we deliver

Key Interfaces

Internal: Senior leaders across Clinical Development, Development Operations, Quality, CMC, Supply Chain, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, and other relevant business functions.

External: Senior leaders across TFS, including executive sponsors and strategic partnership counterparts.

Education and Professional Background

  • Advanced degree preferred (e.g., Master’s or PhD in life sciences, medicine, engineering, business, or a related field); equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Background in biopharma, life sciences, healthcare, or an adjacent highly regulated and innovation‑driven industry

  • Experience operating within complex, matrixed, and global organizational environments

Professional Experience

  • Typically requires 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in strategic partnerships, alliance management, business development, enterprise strategy, or comparable enterprise‑level roles

  • Demonstrated experience operating at a senior leadership interface, working across multiple functions and with external partner organizations

  • Proven leadership of complex, enterprise-critical partnerships that span multiple capabilities, business areas, and global geographies, with accountability for integration across the full partnership portfolio

  • Experience shaping and evolving partnerships beyond execution toward value creation, co‑innovation, decision clarity, and scalable enterprise impact, including designing governance, operating models, and performance management approaches

  • Track record of influencing decisions and outcomes without formal authority, including engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in highly matrixed and ambiguous environments, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholder needs
