About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Compliance Manager to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Play a key role in shaping the future of compliance across Elders. As Senior Compliance Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Group Risk and Compliance to build and enhance the Group's Line 2 compliance capability and framework across a diverse regulatory environment. You will oversee the Group's approach to obligations management, regulatory change and compliance incident governance, setting the methodology and providing oversight and challenge while the business owns and manages its obligations and incidents. As part of the Group Risk and Compliance leadership team, you will work collaboratively across the business, providing specialist oversight and advice while helping establish a consistent and sustainable approach to compliance across the Group.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Group's compliance framework, operating model, policies and standards, ensuring they remain practical, fit for purpose and aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Lead the Group's obligations-management methodology and maintain enterprise oversight of material obligations, supporting divisions to identify owners and manage their own compliance obligations.
- Lead the Group's regulatory-change process, horizon scanning, interpretation and impact assessment, and coordinate and monitor the business's implementation, escalating gaps or delays.
- Oversee compliance incident and breach governance, providing challenge and oversight of investigation, escalation, remediation and reporting led by the business.
- Design and coordinate the Group's risk-based compliance monitoring, thematic reviews and targeted assessments to identify compliance risks and areas for improvement (independent controls testing is coordinated through the Group assurance plan).
- Provide practical, business-focused compliance advice, translating complex regulatory requirements into clear and workable business solutions.
- Prepare clear enterprise compliance reporting and insights for senior leaders and governance forums, covering key risks, regulatory change, breaches and remediation.
- Build compliance capability across the Group through collaborative partnerships, practical guidance, tools and training, so the business can own and meet its obligations.
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in compliance, law, risk or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Second-line compliance experience within a large, complex or diverse regulatory environment.
- Proven experience building or materially improving frameworks, including obligations management, monitoring and compliance risk assessment.
- Strong regulatory change capability, including horizon scanning, impact assessment and translating regulatory requirements into practical business application.
- Strong breach and compliance incident governance experience, with sound judgement around escalation, reporting and remediation.
- Commercial and business-focused approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence senior stakeholders and balance regulatory requirements with practical business outcomes, with a strong focus on collaboration and shared success.
- Professional compliance credential such as GRC Institute Certified Compliance Professional or equivalent highly regarded.
