Great American’s Trucking Division is a leading provider of insurance products for the long-haul trucking industry and specializes in service to Owner-Operators. Our focus on trucking started in the early 1990s with the development of a trucking Physical Damage policy. The Trucking Division is looking for a Claims Representative to join the Physical Damage team in our Cincinnati, OH office. Candidates with commercial auto and previous claims experience are encouraged to apply!

Essential Responsibilities

• Investigates and maintains claims.

• Reviews and evaluates coverage and/or liability.

• Secures and analyzes necessary information (i.e., reports, policies, appraisals, releases, statements, records, or other documents) in the investigation of claims. 

• May participate in affecting settlements/reserves within prescribed limits; submits recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal authority.

• Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.

• Ensure claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statues, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.

• Conveys information (coverage, decision, outcomes, etc.) to all appropriate parties, maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Generally, 1 to 3 years of claims experience.

• Prior experience with liability claims and complex coverage is required. 

• Injury and litigation experience is a plus.
