Bridge Specialty Group is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps & Cloud Platform Engineer to join our growing team in Plano, TX.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Azure DevOps & Cloud Platform Engineer to join the Bridge Specialty Group IT organization. Reporting to the Head of IT Architecture, this role will be responsible for working with the team and evolving the enterprise DevOps platform, cloud automation capabilities, CI/CD standards, and Infrastructure as Code practices across the organization.
This position will work closely with the Architecture team, Cloud Engineering teams, application development teams, and enterprise technology partners to enable secure, scalable, and highly automated software delivery. The successful candidate will join the DevOps team, which owns and operates the Azure DevOps platform and related cloud engineering functions.
How You Will Contribute:
Cloud Platform Engineering & Infrastructure Automation
Design, implement, and support Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, and AWS CloudFormation.
Automate provisioning and lifecycle management of cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS environments.
Develop cloud deployment standards and operational runbooks.
Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.
Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery
Design, build, and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines supporting application, infrastructure, and integration deployments.
Automate build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
Implement deployment quality gates, automated validations, and compliance controls.
Reduce manual deployment activities through automation and self-service capabilities.
Azure Cloud Engineering
Support and optimize enterprise Azure services, including Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure API Management, Azure Service Bus, Azure Functions, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, and Application Insights.
Partner with application teams to implement cloud-native deployment patterns.
AWS Platform Support
Support and maintain workloads deployed within AWS environments.
Work with AWS services, including Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM, SNS, and SQS.
Assist with hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud integration patterns where Azure and AWS services interact.
Support cloud cost optimization and operational governance initiatives.
DevSecOps & Compliance
Implement and maintain DevSecOps controls within CI/CD pipelines.
Integrate security scanning, vulnerability assessments, and policy validation into deployment processes.
Partner with security teams to implement secure development lifecycle practices.
Support audit, compliance, and regulatory requirements applicable to insurance and financial services environments.
Platform Reliability & Operational Excellence
Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities across cloud platforms.
Improve system reliability through automation, monitoring, and proactive operational practices.
Participate in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production support activities.
Develop and maintain operational documentation and platform standards.
Continuous Learning & Innovation
Stay current on emerging cloud technologies, DevOps methodologies, platform engineering practices, and automation tools.
Champion continuous improvement and modernization initiatives.
Contribute to technology communities of practice and knowledge-sharing efforts.
Additional responsibilities consistent with the role objectives may be added as needed to support the profit center.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related disciplines.
5+ years of hands-on Azure DevOps administration and implementation experience.
Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
Strong expertise with Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience supporting Azure cloud services and cloud-native applications.
Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience working across multiple technical teams and stakeholders.
Ability to independently own the DevOps function, manage transitions, and support multiple delivery teams.
Preferred
AWS experience supporting production cloud environments.
Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
Experience implementing DevSecOps programs and security automation.
Experience supporting enterprise application modernization initiatives.
Experience in the insurance or financial services industry.
Azure and/or AWS certifications.
Experience supporting platform engineering, internal developer platforms, or self-service cloud capabilities.
