About the role


The Senior Analyst, Value Assurance is responsible for driving effective assurance and governance of project controls at the portfolio level and supporting the uplift and governance of AGL’s Project Management Framework for greenfield projects in power development pipeline.  The role provides independent assurance and portfolio-level insight across project cost, schedule, risk, value and governance information, enabling informed investment decisions, capital efficiency and disciplined progression through the project lifecycle.
 

The role partners with Power Development, Value Assurance, Strategy & Reporting, Finance and Construction team to improve the quality and consistency of project cost, schedule, risk and governance information. It supports disciplined project progression through the PMF and ensures that information captured in internal systems is fit for portfolio oversight, executive reporting and investment decision-making and drives continuous improvement of these processes.
 

What You’ll Be Doing
 

1.PMF Governance

  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of PMF across development phases.
  • Maintain PMF templates, governance tools and End-of-Phase requirements.
  • Monitor PMF compliance across Assess, Select and Develop phase projects.
  • Coordinate project readiness reviews for phase progression.
  • Support governance forums and PMF assurance processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve governance effectiveness and efficiency.
     

2. Project Control Governance

  • Monitor adherence to agreed project-controls processes and information requirements.
  • Assess the quality, completeness and consistency of project-controls information captured in OnePlan.
  • Partner with project teams and functional specialists to resolve systemic process or data-quality issues.
  • Clarify accountabilities and hand-offs between project teams, Power Development, Construction, Finance, Strategy & Reporting and Value Assurance.
  • Continuous improvement of project control processes and governance by working closely with Power Development, Construction, Finance, Strategy & Reporting and Value Assurance teams.

3. Project Control Assurance

  • Translate project cost, schedule, risk, milestone and governance information into portfolio-level insight.
  • Identify trends, exceptions, forecast movements and emerging risks that may affect project viability, FID, COD, capital efficiency or portfolio value.
  • Independently challenge material assumptions and recommendations.
  • Prepare concise, decision-ready reporting and recommendations for leadership and governance forums.
  • Support prioritisation and investment decisions by linking project performance to portfolio strategy and value.

 

What You’ll Bring
 

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Project Management, Economics or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in project governance, assurance, project controls, portfolio management or capital-investment environments.
  • Preferably minimum 5 years within the energy, infrastructure, resources or other capital-intensive industries
  • Practical understanding of cost, schedule and risk disciplines and how they support investment and project decisions.
  • Experience with stage-gate frameworks, business cases and investment governance.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and translate it i1nto clear, decision-ready insight and recommendations.
  • Ability to constructively challenge assumptions, evidence and recommendations while maintaining effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience establishing or improving governance processes in an evolving environment.
  • Strong written, verbal, facilitation and senior-stakeholder communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel and data-analysis capability.
