The Raytheon Security Team is seeking a self-starter to manage Communications Security within special access program (SAP) environments throughout our Tucson, AZ campus. This position requires a strong working knowledge of COMSEC doctrine and processes to support manual management of traditional COMSEC accounts, emphasizing network encryptors, secure voice products and fill devices. Security personnel work with customers and the government on security requirements for proprietary programs as well as providing guidance and support to employees working on such activities, helping them stay abreast of changes and updates in requirements. You will perform a wide variety of tasks as part of the Special Programs team within Security to include  shipment, order, and receipt of COMSEC equipment and encryption key, track supersession dates, submit accurate and timely accounting reports, perform software upgrades to COMSEC equipment, conduct/reconcile COMSEC inventories, compliance validations, plus incident reporting and investigation.  You will be required to update computer databases with vital security information; collect, study, and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations as well as coordinate with government agencies to obtain rulings and interpretations for compliance with regulations.  You must be willing to protect employee’s personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act and other applicable Government regulations.

 

What You Will Do

• Maintain an effective and compliant COMSEC account.
• Provide customer service to programs and employees related to communications security questions and actions.
• Administer a COMSEC account in compliance with COMSEC directives and security procedures (NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 series and Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 705), as they relate to operating in a classified environment for:  personnel processing, media control, marking and control of documents / materials, security education, visitor control, and destruction of classified.
• Support specialized procedures for the transmission of classified and/or proprietary material/information.
• Conduct and/or participate in internal reviews and/or Government inspections.
• Investigate communications security infractions/violations and prepare reports specifying the potential for loss or compromise and the associated risk to the program(s).
• Maintain personnel records and conduct data entry.
• Make decisions and provide timely inputs that impact critical goals and objectives of the business.
• Role may involve that you work extended hours, due to fast-paced, deadline-driven office environment.
• A valid driver’s license is required, as this position may involve escorting individuals across business locations.
• Review contractual (SOW, CDRL, etc.) documents, internal directives, and external customer directives for security applicability, impact analysis, and make recommendations to Program Management.
• Partner with cross functional organizations to support business objectives.
• Implement a self-inspection program to include evaluating findings and direct the implementation and re-evaluation of the corrective action(s).

 

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field.
• Experience as a primary or alternate COMSEC manager.
• Experience in Customer Service.
• Experience in data entry or database management.

 

Qualifications We Prefer

• Understanding of customer SAP & SCI security structure
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in a unique multi-program environment

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
