Job requirements

As our Lisbon team continues to grow, we're looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Lisbon Pensions Consulting business. This is an exciting opportunity for a part-qualified actuary with pensions experience who is looking to expand their technical expertise, gain greater client exposure and work alongside a highly experienced actuarial team. 

The opportunity

As a key member of our actuarial team, you will support consultants and clients across a wide range of pension schemes, helping deliver high-quality actuarial advice and services. You'll be involved in complex technical work, client projects and mentoring junior colleagues, while continuing your own professional development.

This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of pension consulting activities and a clear path for development, whether your ambition is to become a client-facing consultant or a technical specialist. 

For the first 3 months, the role will be office based, with the opportunity to work hybrid thereafter. 

What you'll be doing

You'll work on a variety of actuarial projects, including:

• Completing and reviewing triennial actuarial valuations and annual funding updates. 

• Supporting pension scheme accounting disclosures and funding exercises. 

• Reviewing transfer value calculations and preparing actuarial reports and advice. 

• Supporting pension scheme de-risking and buyout projects. 

• Contributing to GMP equalisation projects and wider industry initiatives. 

• Working closely with consultants and client managers to deliver high-quality client outcomes. 

• Reviewing work completed by junior colleagues and supporting their development. 

• Contributing to process improvements, technical discussions and knowledge-sharing across the team. 

About you

We're keen to hear from candidates who can bring:

• Part-qualified actuarial status through the IFoA or an equivalent actuarial qualification. 

• Experience working within pensions consulting, pensions administration or a related actuarial environment. 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with exceptional attention to detail. 

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. 

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. 

• A proactive mindset and genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional growth
