Senior Accounting Administrator - Wireless Subscriptions & AR Operations (12-month contract)
Are you an analytical accounting professional who enjoys investigating complex transactions and driving financial recovery?
As a Senior Accounting Administrator at Best Buy, you will manage disputed credit card transactions from start to finish, ensuring timely resolution, minimizing financial loss, and supporting positive customer experience. You will investigate chargebacks, drive financial recovery, identify risks, perform PayPal reconciliations, and support accounts receivable operations related to Best Buy warranty programs.
In this role, the successful candidate is needed to be located within the Lower Mainland, BC, where we practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.
What you’ll do:
Analyze chargeback claims, investigate complex transaction data, evaluate supporting evidence such as sales receipts, shipping documentation, and customer communications, and assess financial recovery opportunities across a portfolio of time-sensitive cases.
Gather documentation and submit formal evidence (representment) to fight invalid chargebacks through card network platforms.
Work cross-functionally, identifying and confirming internal technical and operational procedures, and holding credit card issuers accountable to industry rules and regulations.
Identify risk or opportunity, track chargeback metrics, and trends to recommend process improvements to minimize future risks, and escalate as necessary.
Perform accurate and timely PayPal method-of-payment reconciliations, including managing the PayPal chargeback process.
Reconcile chargeback transactions and prepare and post journal entries for chargeback write-offs.
Complete various accounts receivable operations tasks related to BBY warranty programs.
What we’re looking for:
2–3 years of experience in accounting, banking, or financial services in a mid- to large-sized organization.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with SQL.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to investigate complex transactional issues.
Effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work within established business and card-network timelines
A post-secondary degree in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred.
Why you’ll love it here:
