In economics consulting at PwC, you will apply economic principles and analytical techniques to offer advice and guidance to businesses, public agencies, or organisations. Your work involves conducting research, analysing data, and interpreting economic trends to help clients make informed decisions on various aspects such as financial strategies, market dynamics, policy implications, and resource allocation. Working in this area, you will be responsible for providing valuable insights into economic conditions, helping clients navigate challenges, optimise performance, and achieve their goals in a dynamic and ever-changing economic landscape.

About PwC SATIC and the role

The South African Technology & Innovation Centre (SATIC) is part of PwC’s global network, delivering high-quality support to some of the world’s largest and most complex client engagements. This South Africa-based role supports UK-based client work within multidisciplinary PwC teams serving public and private sector clients.

Summary:

Strategy professional responsible for supporting high-quality strategy and transformation projects through structured research, analysis, problem-solving and the development of clear insights and recommendations for client and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications /Certifications required:

Undergraduate degree in any discipline required; postgraduate qualification desirable.

Experience required:

Relevant experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, policy, management consulting or a similar environment.

Experience should include structured research and analysis, problem-solving, developing reports and presentations, engaging with stakeholders and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities of role:

• Support the delivery of strategy projects through research, analysis and structured problem-solving.
• Contribute to strategic recommendations; conduct market, sector and stakeholder research.
• Support strategic assessments, options appraisals and operating model reviews.
• Help build and test hypotheses; synthesise information into clear insights; produce reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Coordinate assigned tasks and contribute to business development activities where required.

Desirable skill sets include:

• Exposure to public and private sector clients, government departments or policy programmes.
• Business development and proposal support.
• Workshop, interview or stakeholder engagement exposure.
• Knowledge of operating model design, transformation programmes or organisational strategy.
