Sobre esta vaga de Sales & Operations Planning Manager na Swinerton

Swinerton · Presencial · Millersburg OR

Job Description Summary:

Leads Company integrated Sales & Operations Planning process and owns the operating rhythm that aligns sales demand with production capacity, staffing, inventory, procurement, logistics, and financial objectives across mass timber construction services, glulam manufacturing and fabrication, CLT manufacturing and fabrication, product development, and future sawmill operations. This position converts demand forecasting, capacity planning, production planning, inventory optimization, and supply chain coordination into a single management system that makes revenue, utilization, and overhead absorption predictable across multi-site manufacturing and construction operations. Serving as the central coordinator of the company's planning cadence, you deliver executive reporting and decision support, drive cross-functional alignment among Sales, Preconstruction, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Finance, and hold the organization accountable to its planning commitments. S&OP is not a scheduling function at Timberlab; it is the operating mechanism that connects revenue generation, resource planning, continuous improvement, and strategic growth, and this role is its owner.

Job Description:

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

S&OP Process Leadership:

  • Lead the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process end to end, from data preparation through demand review, supply review, reconciliation, and executive sign-off.
  • Manage forecasting reviews with Sales, Preconstruction, and Product Groups to establish one agreed set of numbers for the business.
  • Facilitate demand and supply planning meetings across mass timber construction, glulam, CLT, and product development, resolving gaps between committed demand and available capacity.
  • Develop and lead the executive S&OP review, presenting the consensus plan, constraints, scenarios, and required decisions.
  • Own and maintain the companywide planning calendar, including inputs, deadlines, meeting cadence, and publication of the approved plan.
  • Drive accountability to planning commitments by tracking decisions, owners, and due dates from each cycle to closure.

Demand Planning and Forecasting:

  • Partner with Sales, Preconstruction, Operations, and Product Groups to build and maintain a consensus demand plan for construction services, manufactured products, and fabrication.
  • Maintain a rolling 18 to 24 month demand forecast by business line, facility, and product family.
  • Identify demand risks and opportunities, including project timing shifts, award probability changes, and market movement, and quantify their operational impact.
  • Measure and report forecast accuracy and bias, and lead corrective actions with the forecast owners.
  • Support market expansion, product development, and business growth planning with demand modeling and scenario analysis.

Capacity and Production Planning:

  • Coordinate production planning across glulam manufacturing, glulam fabrication, CLT manufacturing and fabrication, and future sawmill operations to sequence work against the approved demand plan.
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and facility utilization at each site, and report utilization against plan.
  • Identify capacity constraints and bottlenecks early, and develop mitigation options including sequencing changes, outsourcing, shift adjustments, and cross-site load balancing.
  • Recommend staffing, tooling, and capital investment needs required to meet forecasted demand.
  • Balance demand against available resources across multiple sites so that construction schedules and manufacturing schedules remain aligned.

Supply Chain and Inventory Management:

  • Lead material planning for lumber, adhesives, hardware, connectors, and fabrication inputs in support of the production plan.
  • Align procurement timing, quantities, and lead times with the S&OP plan and with project delivery commitments.
  • Optimize raw material, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory levels against service and cost targets.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics partners on lead times, delivery schedules, and capacity commitments.
  • Reduce material shortages, expedites, and excess or obsolete inventory through improved planning discipline.
  • Improve working capital performance through inventory turns, purchasing timing, and demand-driven replenishment.

Performance Management and Analytics:

  • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards covering demand, capacity, production, inventory, and delivery performance.
  • Report operational performance metrics to plant leadership, operations leadership, and executive management on a defined cadence.
  • Monitor backlog conversion from award through fabrication, delivery, and installation.
  • Track revenue forecasts against the operating plan and explain variances by business line and facility.
  • Report utilization and overhead absorption by facility and cost center, and highlight the operational actions required to protect margin.
  • Support annual business planning, budgeting, and long-range capacity planning with data, models, and scenario analysis.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Standardize planning, scheduling, and reporting processes across all Timberlab facilities and business lines.
  • Develop, publish, and maintain standard operating procedures for the planning and S&OP process.
  • Support Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives in manufacturing, fabrication, and field operations.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis on missed schedules, forecast misses, shortages, and capacity failures, and drive corrective actions to closure.
  • Drive process discipline across departments so that planning inputs are timely, accurate, and complete.

Executive Communication and Leadership:

  • Prepare executive presentations that summarize demand, capacity, risk, and recommended decisions in a concise, decision-ready format.
  • Support strategic planning activities, including growth initiatives, new product introduction, facility expansion, and sawmill startup planning.
  • Present recommendations to senior leadership and gain alignment on trade-offs between service, cost, capacity, and working capital.
  • Drive cross-functional accountability across Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, Procurement, Finance, and Product Development.
  • Communicate business risks, constraints, and mitigation plans clearly and early to the leadership team.
