We are seeking an experienced healthcare leader to serve as our Director, Critical Care, providing strategic and operational leadership for our Emergency Department and Special Care Unit (SCU).

You will translate organizational strategy into action, identify opportunities for improvement, develop leaders, strengthen employee and physician engagement, and help shape the continued success of emergency and critical care services at Logan Health Whitefish.

The Emergency Department and Special Care Unit are at the center of our community's most critical moments. As Director, you will have the opportunity to influence how care is delivered, how teams work together, and how we continue to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
You'll be a visible and influential leader with responsibility for:
Leading the overall operations and performance of the Emergency Department and Special Care Unit.
Developing and supporting leaders and frontline teams through coaching, accountability, engagement, and professional development.
Partnering with physicians, medical staff, and interdisciplinary leaders to advance patient care and operational excellence.
Driving quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory readiness, and sustainable performance improvement.
Using operational and clinical data to identify opportunities, develop action plans, and measure results.
Overseeing staffing, workforce planning, productivity, resource allocation, and departmental operations.
Leading budget development, financial stewardship, expense management, revenue forecasting, and variance analysis.
Supporting recruitment, retention, employee development, and strategies that strengthen engagement and reduce turnover.
Ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, accreditation, licensing, and organizational standards.
Translating Logan Health's strategic priorities into meaningful goals and actions for the department.
Building strong partnerships across departments and service lines to improve the continuity and coordination of patient care.
Advancing education and professional development opportunities that support clinical excellence and innovation.
Representing nursing and clinical operations in organizational and medical staff committees and initiatives.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a strategic, collaborative, and highly engaged healthcare leader who can balance people, patients, operations, and performance.
You bring:
Bachelor's degree required.
Five (5) years of relevant leadership experience required.
Current Montana RN license or a multistate compact license with authorization to practice nursing in Montana.
Working knowledge of the healthcare environment, care delivery systems, regulatory requirements, and the evolving healthcare landscape.
Experience leading teams, managing resources, and driving operational and quality improvement.
Strong financial and operational acumen, including experience with budgets, staffing, productivity, and resource management.
Experience using electronic health records and computerized clinical documentation systems.
Strong communication, relationship-building, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
A leadership approach grounded in integrity, compassion, accountability, collaboration, and respect.
Required Certifications
RQI Provider (BLS) within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before independent patient care, whichever comes first.
ALS within six (6) months of hire/transfer.
PALS within six (6) months of hire/transfer.

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
