Partners with risk, business, and governance stakeholders to support second line of defense (2LoD) oversight activities through risk assessments, effective challenge, monitoring, and the evaluation of risk governance and management practices. Applies analytical skills, business knowledge, and risk management principles to evaluate processes, analyze supporting evidence, identify potential risks and control gaps, and develop insights that support informed decision-making.
Supports the planning, execution, and documentation of risk assessments by conducting research, reviewing governance artifacts, validating information, and synthesizing complex data from multiple sources. Assists in evaluating adherence to policies, standards, and procedure requirements while identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, governance practices, and risk management processes.
Leverages technology solutions, including automation and artificial intelligence tools, to enhance information gathering, evidence review, knowledge discovery, workflow management, and assessment execution. Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and increase the consistency and scalability of risk oversight activities.
Maintains an understanding of business processes, data governance practices, risk frameworks, and control environments to support effective risk identification, assessment, monitoring, and challenge activities. Develops clear, concise, and well-supported analyses that enable senior risk leaders to provide credible challenge and oversight of the organization's risk management programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1) Bachelor's degree and 2-5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

2) In-depth knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and/or methodologies associated with the professional discipline (e.g., information technology, project management, finance, risk management, etc.). 

3) Understands foundational concepts of other related professional disciplines. 

4) Experience managing small projects. Knowledge of the industry's competitive landscape and the factors that differentiate Truist and its competitors in the market. 

5) Ability to interpret and explain complex information to a range of audiences and build consensus among different stakeholders. 

6) Ability to provide direction and mentor less experienced teammates.

Preferred Qualifications:

1) Master's degree or MBA and 5 years of related experience.

2) Previous experience in the banking industry. 

3) Experience leveraging technology solutions, including automation and artificial intelligence tools, to improve information gathering, analysis, and operational efficiency.

4) Experience interpreting policies, standards, procedures, controls, or regulatory requirements.

5) Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information into clear, concise written and verbal communications for senior stakeholders.

To comply with the Virginia pay transparency statute and for work locations in Virginia only, the annual base salary for this position is $92,000-$115,000.
