Research Analyst / Senior Analyst / Associate Research Fellow (Centre of Excellence for National Security)
 

The S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a Graduate School of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), is a leading research-intensive and teaching institution on security research in the Asia-Pacific region.

RSIS invites applications for the position of Associate Research Fellow / Senior Analyst / Research Analyst in the Centre of Excellence for National Security (CENS). The applicant is expected to:

• Contribute significantly to the policy-research agenda of CENS, specifically, AI-enabled Disinformation, Rumours, Untruths, Misinformation, Smears and strategic communications in relation to Singapore.
• Carry out administrative work.
• Assist in fostering a collegial environment within CENS and beyond – one that is conducive to high research productivity and good institutional citizenship. Specifically, they must demonstrate the ability to connect research objectives and findings to the interests, needs and strategic outcomes of CENS and RSIS. They must think and act beyond immediate/personal interests and possess a bigger picture view. They must collaborate effectively across and within CENS and RSIS to value-add to both entities.

Other advantageous traits include:

• Self-starter, resourceful.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Strong analytical, communication and facilitation skills.
   

In terms of qualifications/work experience, the candidate should:

• Possess a Masters degree in a relevant field or have working experience in a related domain for at least three years.
• Have a good understanding of the issues above and an ability to conduct policy-relevant research.
• Possess good command of the English language, as well as, good writing and research skills with an aptitude and interest for in-depth research on the policy-research agenda mentioned above.
• Preferably have some knowledge of AI such as vibe-coding skills and/or how to use AI for research, media and/or improve efficiency.
