We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse – Operations Support Specialist to float between Banner North Colorado Medical Center and Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, with a primary base at Banner North Colorado Medical Center. This role is a unique blend of clinical operations, staff development, education support, and leadership collaboration — designed to strengthen our WIS team and elevate the experience of our patients, new hires, and clinical staff.

This individual will play a pivotal role in navigating new employees through orientation, supporting our education team, and contributing to innovation within women and infant care across both facilities.

  • Onboarding & New Hire Support

    • Complete and organize all onboarding needs for new hires, new graduates, and capstone students
    • Serve as a primary point of contact to guide new team members through the orientation process across both WIS facilities
    • Review completed competency assessment (CAP) tools to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Education & Training Collaboration

    • Assist with education initiatives and collaborate with education teams as needed
    • Keep preceptors aligned with training expectations, timelines, and best practices
    • Support the integration of new technology and innovation within women and infant care

  • Leadership & Team Member Support

    • Work closely with leadership on check-ins and follow-ups with team members
    • May assist with leadership rotation call coverage as needed
    • Support clinical staff in delivering high-quality patient safety and care

  • Perinatal Data & Quality Support

    • Partner with the Perinatal RN to help support data collection, tracking, and reporting
    • Contribute to quality improvement efforts aligned with CPCQC partnership initiatives

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous education experience or experience within a Women & Infant Services (WIS) department

  • Familiarity with onboarding processes, competency tools, and preceptor programs
  • Experience with perinatal quality data or collaborative quality initiatives

Primary Location: Banner North Colorado Medical Center – Greeley, CO
Secondary Location: Banner Fort Collins Medical Center – Fort Collins, CO
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (hours may vary; position is exempt)
Call Requirements: May assist with leadership rotation call coverage as needed

Banner North Colorado Medical Center is a 378-bed Level II trauma center and acute care facility with over 3000 employees. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting nurse leadership in the planning, development and execution of facility education for clinicians, supporting the on-boarding and orientation of newly hired registered nurses, career development and effective internal clinical communications. This role performs under the guidance and direction of the chief nursing officer or designee and serves as a liaison between all disciplines by effectively communicating, educating and problem solving. This position proactively supports the quality and continuity of services throughout the healthcare systems and assists in resolution of systems issues and enforces facility/unit/department policy/procedures and standards of care. This position coordinates oversight of quality, risk management, safety and nursing standards and is a role model and resource person for providing quality patient care and maintaining clinical competency within the facility/unit/department; collaborates with Clinical Education to coordinate and support the on-boarding and precepting of newly hired nurses (this includes supporting programs and communication within the facility); develops and coordinates system and facility initiatives to promote clinical career development and lateral nurse pathways and may lead and implement facility clinical initiatives. This position contributes to society through activities that lead to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, safe care; and actively participates in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes, such activities may include participating in professional organizations.

CORE FUNCTIONS

2. Identifies and solves a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzes possible solutions and assesses each using established procedures. Analyzes developments in the field for others.

3. Responds to non-standard requests from internal and/or external customers; investigates with assistance from others, as needed. Interacts primarily with department peers, supervisor, internal customers, patients and physicians.

4. Makes decisions within guidelines and policies that impact own priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a Associates degree.

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.

Requires a minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Minimal experience, typically gained through 0-2 years relevant experience.

Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral or BUMG, BUMCT in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire. Employees working at BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree is nursing preferred.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Estimated Pay Range:

$40.57 - $67.61 / hour Banner Health is committed to pay equity and transparency. The posted compensation range is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay Banner Health in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. This range is based on possible base salaries and does not include the value of our total rewards package. Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location, along with a review of current employees in similar roles to ensure pay equity is achieved and maintained.
