Overview
Provides professional nursing care to patients within the medical practice in support of, and as directed by, the physicians. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week | Monday through Friday | Day Shift

Join Our Neurology Team at Mercy

Mercy Clinic Neurology is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient clinical team. This is a great opportunity for an RN who enjoys building relationships with patients, working closely with physicians and other members of the care team, and providing high-quality care in a clinic environment. With a Monday through Friday day-shift schedule, this position offers the opportunity to grow your nursing career while caring for patients in a collaborative medical practice setting.

What You'll Do

As an RN with Mercy Clinic Neurology, you will provide professional nursing care and support our physicians in the evaluation, treatment and ongoing care of patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Assess patients, review medical histories and chief complaints, and obtain and document vital signs
• Prepare patients for examination and treatment while maintaining patient comfort and safety
• Assist physicians with patient care, treatments and procedures
• Perform nursing procedures specific to the clinical specialty
• Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous and intradermal injections as required
• Perform IV therapy
• Provide patient education and reinforce individualized care instructions
• Respond to patient phone calls, coordinate with physicians and communicate follow-up information
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic health record
• Support laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed
• Properly handle and store medications
• Respond appropriately to urgent or emergency situations that may arise in the medical office
• Maintain examination rooms, medical equipment and supplies
• Follow infection prevention, safety and universal precaution standards
• Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations
• Support referrals and other clinical administrative needs to help ensure smooth coordination of patient care
  

Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

Licensure

• Current, valid state nursing license

Certification

• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
