Unit Description: Cardiac and Vascular Care (CVC) is a 16-bed unit designated for cardiac and procedural patients requiring a brief hospitalization. Our Registered Nurses care for a variety of patients including those recovering from surgery, interventional radiology procedures, invasive cardiology procedures; including ST-elevation myocardial infarction, non ST-segment myocardial infarction patients, patients requiring percutaneous coronary interventions, and patients requiring antiarrhythmic medication initiation.

Responsibilities:

• Managing and coordination care for the post-procedural extended recovery, and/or the observational care patient in the Cardiac Vascular Care Unit.
• Management of patient care utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes. 
• Directs and guides the delivery of nursing care, patient education, and all care related activities, while maintaining standards of professional nursing collaborating with other disciplines as appropriate. 
• Required to float on a rotational basis.
  

Education/Skills Required:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BLS or ACLS required with ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience preferred.
• Completion of Cardiac Rhythm course within 3 to 6 months required.
• Completion of Critical Care course within 3 to 6 months required.
• Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to anticipate, prioritize, perform and complete multiple job responsibilities in a timely manner.
• As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

Floating: Required to float rotationally.

Incentives: Position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000, subject to terms, conditions, and change.

On-call: Not required.
