What You'll Do:
- Conduct a concise 20-30 minute nutrition assessment with clients during their Annual Health Assessment
- Assess macro- and micronutrient intake based on clients' goals using 24-hour food records
- Interpret blood test results when available and address client questions, concerns, and goals
- Provide practical, evidence-based nutrition recommendations to improve clients' nutrition status and support achievement of their health goals
- Deliver individualized nutrition counselling and behaviour change strategies tailored to each client's needs
- Provide customized educational resources and handouts based on clients' interests and goals
- Maintain current knowledge of nutrition science and best practices to ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care
- Maintain electronic medical records and statistical data reports
- Coordinate with physicians, allied health professionals, and clinic staff to facilitate efficient client flow and an exceptional client experience
- Complete administrative tasks as required, including communication with the Nutrition Team and Flow Coordinators regarding schedules, capacity, eligible clients, and reporting metrics
- Participate in departmental initiatives such as Nutrition Month, wellness programming, and nutrition-related staff education
- Support the ongoing development and enhancement of the Annual Health Assessment (AHA) Nutrition Program and service offerings
What You'll Need:
- Registered Dietitian and member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a clinical or outpatient setting
- Experience providing individualized nutrition counselling and client education
- Experience interpreting laboratory results and translating findings into practical nutrition recommendations
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare team and collaborating with a variety of client populations
- Ability to effectively conduct nutrition assessments and provide recommendations within a fast-paced clinical environment
- Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex nutrition concepts into client-friendly recommendations
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Experience working with youth aged 6 years and older is considered an asset
- Experience in preventive health, wellness, lifestyle medicine, or private healthcare settings is considered an asset
Schedule & Location
This is a full-time position scheduled for 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, during regular business hours and performed fully in-clinic.
Our Markham clinic is located at 600 Cochrane Drive, Markham, Ontario.
Position Pay Range
$63,808.00 - $87,736.00 CAD annually
Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
