Examples of Work:
- Follow established procedures, work effectively within a government framework, and support both WIOA and Wagner-Peyser services with accuracy and consistency.
- Promote Career Center services and coordinate activities with community partners.
- Provide career preparation assistance and vocational guidance.
- Assist employers in filling vacant positions primarily through WIOA-related services, including OJT support, Work Experience opportunities, identifying and coordinating eligible participants, and required follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with community development organizations to support regional growth. Market Career Center services to job seekers and employers.
- Plan, implement, and deliver workshops tailored to business and job seeker needs. Conduct presentations at schools, job fairs, and community events. Prepare informational briefings and presentations to promote workforce development services.
- Screen applicants for eligibility for partner programs and use vocational guidance tools to support career services. Coordinate services for mutual clients with partner organizations.
- Perform case management; research and recommend clients for intensive services under programs such as Reemployment Services, WOTC, Rapid Response, Veterans Services, WIOA, and TAA.
- Provide Employment Services (ES) career assistance including client registration, eligibility reviews, assessments, and employment statistics reporting. Conduct outreach as a member of committees, advisory boards, and community organizations.
- Perform job search and matching activities for employers and applicants. Administer assessment instruments, interpret results, and counsel clients. Receive and verify job orders from employers and enter information into system programs.
Location: 2317 N 6th St, Beatrice, NE (on-site)
Work Schedule: 8am- 5pm; Monday - Friday
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, counseling, business, public administration, education, marketing, or a related field; or experience in client development and case management including interviewing, research, and direct customer service.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work, human relations, business or related academic major plus casework or equivalent work experience. Experience in workforce development, business services, human resources, recruiting, employment services, economic development, or related field preferred.
Other Qualifications: Must have a valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities
Knowledge of: Workforce development programs; vocational counseling or career guidance; employment trends and labor market information; typical office computer systems; Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, Google Docs; NEworks or similar case management systems.
Skilled in: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including being comfortable presenting to groups; effective presentation skills and conducting workshops, trainings, or community presentations; strong customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations; case management, documentation, or other environments requiring accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to: manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines independently; learn new systems quickly; maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately; maintain appropriate, professional working relationships with the public, coworkers and management; maintain regular and reliable attendance.
