Salary: £25,877.80-£30,868 ( pro rata for part time salary)
Contract: Permanent Part time, 30 hours per week-

Location: Adelphi Court LA14 2HX Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria


Our service is partially staffed between the hours of 09:00 and 21:30, with a mixture of shifts to cover service delivery. You will be required to work every second weekend.

Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.

About the role:


Are you passionate about supporting people with mental health needs to build confidence, develop independence and achieve their personal goals?


Waythrough is looking for a compassionate, motivated and resilient Recovery Worker to join our dedicated team at Adelphi Court, our CQC-registered supported living service in Barrow-in-Furness.


Adelphi Court provides mental health support, supported housing and community-based services for adults aged 18 and over. We take a person-centred, recovery-focused approach, helping individuals develop the skills, confidence and independence they need to live fulfilling lives within their community.


As a Recovery Worker, you will play an important role in supporting residents to manage their mental health and wellbeing, develop everyday living skills and work towards their individual recovery goals.


Your role will involve providing practical and emotional support, encouraging residents to participate in meaningful activities and helping them overcome challenges along their recovery journey. You will work closely with residents to develop personal recovery plans, complete risk assessments, facilitate group sessions and deliver one-to-one support.


No two days will be the same, but every day will offer an opportunity to make a positive difference.


What you'll be doing


  • Providing person-centred support to adults experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Supporting residents to develop independent living skills, including cooking, shopping and managing daily routines.
  • Encouraging positive mental health, wellbeing and community involvement.
  • Working with residents to identify personal goals and develop individual recovery plans.
  • Supporting risk assessments and promoting safe, independent living.
  • Facilitating group activities and delivering one-to-one support sessions.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with residents and colleagues.
  • Supporting medication management following appropriate training.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Promoting dignity, choice, inclusion and independence in all aspects of support.

What we're looking for:


We are looking for someone who genuinely cares about helping others and is committed to supporting people to achieve greater independence.


Ideally, you will have:


  • Experience in mental health, supported living, health and social care, or a related field.
  • A compassionate, patient and non-judgemental approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive, professional relationships.
  • A commitment to person-centred care and recovery-focused support.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including 3 weekends out of every 6.
  • An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
  • A willingness to complete the Care Certificate and undertake medication training.
  • A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle for work purposes.

What we offer


Working pattern:


This is a permanent, part-time position working 30 hours per week.

Our service operates with staffing between 9:00 am and 9:30 pm, with a varied shift pattern to meet the needs of residents and ensure consistent service delivery.


You will be required to work 3 weekends out of every 6, alongside weekday shifts. Flexibility is therefore essential.
