Sobre esta vaga de Quantum Hardware Assembly Technician na QuantWare
About Us
QuantWare is building the world’s most powerful quantum processors to solve humanity's greatest challenges. We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors.
With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in!
As our Quantum Hardware Assembly Technician at QuantWare, you are the hands that turn a quantum chip into a working, measurable product. You package our chips into their housing and onto a PCB, and you will assemble and mount the new devices into their cryo fridge in the test facility. Your precision, discipline and reliability directly keep our production and measurement pipelines moving, and ensure our quantum hardware meets the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on execution role. You carry out chip assembly and fridge loading according to technical drawings and documented work instructions (SOPs), to a consistent quality standard and pace, and you record your work in our production systems. You report to the Production Manager, who holds formal line-management responsibility (1:1s, performance reviews, absence and leave). You take your daily and weekly priorities from the Assembly Tech Lead, who sets the assembly schedule and is the technical authority on the floor; fridge loading is planned in close coordination with the measurement team.
What you'll be doing
Core Responsibilities
Assemble quantum chips into their packaging, working from technical drawings and work instructions to place and mount the chip in its housing and mount the chip in its housing with the PCB.
Make the electrical connections, wirebonding (manual and automatic) will be a significant part of the daily activities, as well as manual soldering.
Measure and test your work, performing the defined electrical and mechanical checks and recording the results, so issues are caught before a device moves on.
Finish and close the package, including sealing, inspection, laser engraving and preparing for transportation to the measurement location.
Load our cryogenic fridges with new chips to be measured, mounting packaged samples and QPUs, making the wiring, thermal and mechanical connections, and closing up the system with magnetic shields.
Safeguard quality, handling fragile, high-value parts with care and following handling and ESD procedures, because a single scratch, particle or ESD event can ruin a chip.
Supporting Responsibilities
Flag deviations early, stopping and raising it with the Assembly Tech Lead when something does not match the instruction or does not look right, rather than improvising a fix.
Help improve how we work, giving practical feedback on work instructions, fixtures and tools while our processes are still maturing.
Keep a safe, clean and organised workplace, applying 5S and HSE rules every day and making sure your bench, tooling and consumables are ready.
Your Profile
MBO-level technical education (level 3 or 4) or equivalent, for example in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electronics, fine-mechanical or precision engineering, or lab or instrument technology.
4+ years of hands-on experience assembling mechanical, electrical or mechatronic systems; relevant internships count.
Able to read work instructions with photos and technical drawings, and comfortable with basic digital tools and production systems.
Good with your hands at two scales: precision in assembly, handling of fine devices and connectors, and mechanical assembly such as bolting, cabling and fitting larger parts together.
Precise and patient, with a genuine liking for detailed hands-on work done well, every time, and a practical approach to solving problems.
Comfortable with structured, repeatable work, and disciplined about following instructions step by step and recording what you did.
Comfortable in an environment that is still being built, where not every process is finished yet and priorities can shift.
A team player in a young, driven team who communicates openly and speaks up when something isn't right.
Good command of technical English.
Bonus if you also bring:
Experience with wirebonding, die attach or other chip-packaging / microelectronics assembly.
Experience with measurements, diagnostics or troubleshooting.
Experience in a lab, ESD-controlled or 5S production environment.
Experience assembling, servicing or setting up complex equipment, instruments or machines.
Familiarity with cryogenics or vacuum systems.
Don't tick every box? Apply anyway! Research shows women often self-select out if they don't meet every requirement. Here's our take: nobody ticks every box. This is a description of our ideal candidate, not a filter. If most resonates and you're keen to learn the gaps, apply. We hire for trajectory, not perfection.
