We are looking for an experienced Project Officer to join a project team based in Canberra, ACT, supporting the delivery of projects across a complex and highly structured environment. This is a 12-month contract with the potential for extensions, offering the opportunity to provide project coordination, administrative and financial support while helping project teams maintain effective planning, reporting, governance and delivery processes.
Requirements
hat You’ll Do
- Support project and program teams with day-to-day project coordination and administration.
- Assist with project testing, evaluation and acceptance activities.
- Apply project management methodologies, processes and tools to support project delivery.
- Prepare briefs, reports, correspondence and submissions for stakeholders and committees.
- Support project governance, including meetings, reporting, documentation and action tracking.
- Maintain project schedules, financial records, registers and documentation.
- Assist with project planning, risk management, quality assurance and resource tracking.
- Monitor project activities, costs and timelines and escalate issues where required.
- Provide support to Project Managers across various stages of the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in project coordination or project support.
- Experience working with project management methodologies, tools and processes.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience preparing reports, briefs, correspondence and project documentation.
- Understanding of project governance, risk, financial and schedule management.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and a range of stakeholders.
- Experience using project management software and standard office tools.
- Government, Defence or experience in a highly regulated environment will be highly regarded.
- Must hold a current TPSV Clearance to be considered for this role.
