Sobre esta vaga de Project Manager - Project Execution na Blue Energy

Blue Energy · Presencial · Greater Houston

Company Overview

Blue Energy is transforming how nuclear power gets built. Instead of constructing each plant on-site from scratch - a process that takes 10-15 years and is too expensive and unpredictable to finance - we build our plants like ships: in a factory, on an assembly line, then transport and assemble them at the site. This cuts costs by over 60% and brings plants online in just three years. We also pair natural gas with nuclear at our sites, so customers can start receiving power from gas turbines right away and then switch over to clean nuclear power once it comes online - getting energy to the grid faster while nuclear is being built. Our mission is to make nuclear energy abundant, affordable, and repeatable at global scale. We use proven, already-approved reactor designs and work with existing nuclear and industrial sites, giving us a faster path to regulatory approval. By manufacturing this way, we put nuclear power on the same cost-reduction curve that has made wind, solar, and batteries cheaper every year.

Role Summary

The Project Manager / Project Engineer (PM / PE) will manage major components of the overall project and, depending on assignment, may manage other leads managing sub-components of the overall scope of the project. The role will involve managing all aspects of sub-projects, teams executing sub-projects, or a specific scope area — which may include Engineer of Record (EOR) contractors for the Phase-1 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Power Plant and coordination of utilities (gas, water, and communications); the EPC contractor, site logistics subcontractors, deep excavation subcontractor, and remaining site characterization; and/or major owner-supplied equipment packages (e.g., Turbine Hall/Steam Turbine, HRSG, and Gas Turbine OEM scopes) from design through commissioning — while reporting on the status and requirements. The role will require deep level cooperation and integration with the Blue Energy (BE) scope engineering leads responsible for the engineering and development of the scope of work, the principal project manager, the execution partners, the procurement team, the project controls and scheduling team, the development team, the finance team, stakeholders and the vendors and contractors hired to provide a scope of deliverables or work. The project manager / engineer will be responsible for schedule adherence and input, budget and cost monitoring, action item logging and resolution and all other activities to ensure the scope of work is completed on time and on budget. The project Manager / Engineer will be responsible for identifying roadblocks, consolidating them for the attention of the BE team and mitigating them with the full team and the Principal Project Manager. The PM / PE will be assisted in the initial understanding of the responsibilities and with setting up systems, logs, meetings, etc. to the point where the PM / PE will be the primary contact for the defined scope of work. In depth understanding of project execution and schedule development, status and adherence is central to the role.

The PM / PE supports the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering, procurement, permitting, fabrication and construction of the scope of work. This role ensures technical accuracy, compliance with standards, and effective communication between project managers, contractors, and stakeholders. The PM / PE helps drive projects elements from concept through completion by managing documentation, schedules, budgets, engineering deliverables, fabrication, construction, commissioning and startup.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, design, and execution of sub-projects and scope areas, which may include: EOR contractor management and utility integration (gas, water, communications); EPC construction, site logistics, deep shaft/excavation, and remaining site characterization; and other TBD work scopes related to project execution.

  • Manage the full delivery cycle (engineering through commissioning) of major owner-supplied equipment packages (e.g., Turbine Hall/Steam Turbine, HRSG, and Gas Turbine OEM scopes) for the BE CCGT power plant, as assigned.

  • Manage to the project schedule and assist to ensure it is integrated and updated (Scheduling / Planner role is separate Project Controls currently staffed position. PM/PE duties are to ensure schedule adherence and integration and assist in planning)

  • Manage execution partners related to the scope of work (BE and Contractors)

  • Ensure transparency by facilitating communication and by utilizing tools (meeting minutes, action item logs, RFI logs, schedules, etc.).

  • Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.

  • Monitor project progress, schedules, and budgets; escalate risks or delays in coordination with the project controls team and others.

  • Identify, report and mitigate where possible all deviations from scope or with cost or schedule.

  • Conduct site visits to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with design standards.

  • Support procurement activities, including RFIs, submittals, and material takeoffs.

  • Analyze information for potential risk or opportunity.

  • Lead team members supporting the scope of work.

  • Ensure compliance with company requirements, industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements in cooperation with stakeholders.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and project status updates for management.

  • Assist with testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation.

  • Monitor and ensure adequate tracking of procurement deliveries and subcontract execution.

  • All other necessary tasks needed to successfully complete a scope of work. The PM / PE is the responsible party but with coordination with the team members and stakeholders who have the technical or specific expertise.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of qualified experience in the field and / or home office project execution (EPC experience preferred).

  • Ability to prepare documents using word processing (MS Word), and familiarity with presentation (MS PowerPoint) and spreadsheet (MS Excel) application software and BlueBeam or other PDF software.

  • Willingness to travel when needed and work from Project Construction site or to other Company offices and supplier sites, as required, to coordinate project schedule information.

  • A strong ability to act independently with support of management and other teams.

  • Knowledge of EPC project lifecycle and interfaces between engineering, procurement, permitting, QA, HSSE and construction

  • Understanding of project control management basics such as earned value tracking, P6 scheduling, and cost tracking and forecasting. There are project controls leads to perform these functions, but the PE/PM is the progress “owner”.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Energy services experience is desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields preferred but not required if experienced.

  • Prior experience with gas turbines, HRSGs, and combined cycle plants.

  • Proficient in standard tools (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).

Preferred Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities.

  • Experience supporting field teams during construction and start-up phases.

  • Familiarity with risk management, resource leveling, and scenario planning.

  • Strong ability to manage detailed work.

  • Ability to work independently to achieve a “goal” without requiring specific directions. Expectation is that there will be full support for the PM / PE from principal PM and other stakeholders, but PM / PE would be required to initiate questions and relay information to get the support needed once established.

We look forward to your application and helping foster an era of safe, clean, affordable, and abundant energy.
