Job Description

IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide. We are currently seeking a Project Manager Assistant to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Bismarck, Missouri plant.  This plant produces granules from raw material for our vertically integrated shingle manufacturing operation. 

Assignment Term: This position is a temporary role supporting the commissioning and startup of the granule plant, with an anticipated duration of 9 to 12 months. 

Job Summary 

The Project Manager Assistant supports the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing the project during the construction and commissioning activities for our Bismarck Granule manufacturing plant. This role helps ensure a safe and successful completion of construction and operational handover of plant systems. 

Job Responsibilities 

• Assist with day-to-day management and coordination of construction activities. 

• Coordinate with subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and project stakeholders. 

• Track project schedules, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation. 

• Monitor project progress, quality, costs, deficiencies, corrective actions, and compliance with contract requirements. 

• Attend project meetings and assist with documenting and resolving project issues. 

• Support the Project Manager with procurement, forecasting, reporting, and close-out activities. 

• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance testing activities 

• Assist with commissioning schedules and milestone tracking. 

• Coordinate commissioning activities among vendors, contractors, operation team, maintenance team, and the consultants 

• Participate in inspections, functional testing, troubleshooting, and punch-list management. 

• Prepare meeting minutes, reports, turnover packages, and testing records. 

• Coordinate operational readiness and training activities. 

• Promote a safe, organized, and professional construction site. 

Qualifications 

• Associate or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Project Management, or related field preferred.

• 2-5 years of project coordination, commissioning, manufacturing, construction, or industrial experience preferred.

• Strong Microsoft Office skills.

• Knowledge of project scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera is a plus.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with granulation systems, conveyors, dryers, screens, dust collection, and material handling equipment.

• Knowledge of industrial safety standards, LOTO, and commissioning procedures.

• CAPM, PMP, or commissioning certifications preferred.

Reporting Relationship

• Reports directly to the Project Manager and collaborates with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and Contractor Teams.
