Sobre esta vaga de Project Management Intern na Leidos

Leidos · Presencial · Washington, DC

Leidos is seeking a summer intern with a Business or Computer Information Systems (or similar) background to join our team in support of the SMIT contract, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), the Leidos team delivers the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team supports the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support Project Management efforts to improve SMIT and gain efficiency/effectiveness for the program.

Agile Solution Delivery Program Organization is seeking a motivated undergraduate student to join our team as a Project Management Intern. This internship provides hands-on experience in project coordination, stakeholder communication, and project lifecycle management within a dynamic defense contracting environment. The intern will work closely with experienced project managers to support multiple projects while developing essential project management skills and gaining exposure to industry best practices in government contracting and IT services delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Support and Coordination - The intern will assist project managers in day-to-day project activities including task tracking, schedule updates, and milestone monitoring for SMIT program initiatives. Responsibilities include maintaining project documentation, updating project management software systems, and ensuring that project deliverables are properly organized and accessible to team members. The intern will participate in project meetings, take detailed notes, and help distribute action items and follow-up communications to relevant stakeholders across the Navy and Leidos teams.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting - The position involves collecting and analyzing project data to support decision-making processes for SMIT program improvements. The intern will create status reports, update project dashboards, and assist in preparing presentations for stakeholder meetings. This includes tracking project metrics, identifying trends, and helping to communicate project progress to various audiences including senior management, Navy clients, and cross-functional teams working on network operations and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Communication - The intern will support communication efforts by drafting emails, scheduling meetings, and maintaining stakeholder contact lists for both internal Leidos teams and Navy personnel. They will assist in coordinating project communications, ensuring that all team members receive timely updates, and helping to facilitate effective information flow between different project participants working on NMCI backbone services.
  • Process Improvement - The intern will have opportunities to identify process improvement opportunities specifically focused on gaining efficiencies and effectiveness for the SMIT program. They will contribute to the development of project management templates, checklists, and standard operating procedures that align with government contracting requirements and help document best practices for future SMIT project reference.
  • Administrative Support - General administrative duties include organizing project files, maintaining project archives, updating project calendars, and assisting with resource scheduling for SMIT program activities. The intern will also support project managers with meeting preparation, venue coordination, and logistics management for project events including client meetings and program reviews.
