Job Description Summary

               

Has immediate responsibility for the plant’s Capital program. Responsible for all phases of assigned standard engineering projects. Ensures the successful completion of all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

This position is responsible for all aspects of project work including; design, CIR write-ups, developing contractor bid packages, overseeing project installation, cost tracking, training and startup assistance as well as post project support. 

 

Has primary responsibility for making, revising, and maintaining all Plant drawings.  (Using Autocad, Solidworks, or similar) 

 

Performs analyses to develop design options and cost impacts 

 

Works with maintenance supervisors on plant issues 

 

Assists in Maintaining contractor safety program  

 

Supports the Process Safety Management program 

 

Develops and maintains the long-term capital plan.   

 

Originates formal project requests, investigates problems, develops solutions in line with economic, personnel, and environmental considerations 

 

Works closely with the plant engineering manager, the corporate engineering group, the plant staff and the production department. 

 

Assists in preparation of yearly budget for maintenance. 

 

Responsible for the purchase of materials for capital projects as assigned by the Plant Engineering Manager. 

 

 

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  

Directly supervise outside contractors.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  May be required to perform responsibilities of Maintenance Supervisor upon request.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

4 year degree in engineering or related field.  2 to 4 years production processing, maintenance, engineering, or supervisory experience.  Proficient in the use of Autocad and/or Solidworks.  Strong PC skills including Windows, Word, Excel. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, technical and procedural manuals.  Ability to write legible reports and correspondences.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, employees, auditors and other groups. 

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS  

Must be proficient in mathematical calculation. 

 

REASONING ABILITY  

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The employee is required to use hands to work on computers and reach with hands and arms to check equipment, take readings and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will be required to stand, walk, bend at the knees, lean forward climb stairs, work on ladders. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.

The employee works primarily in an office environment inside the plant, where the noise level is usually quiet.  However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to work in the plant where he/she may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the plant is usually loud.  Hearing protection is required and provided by the company. 

 

SAFETY   Must have a complete knowledge and understanding of the plant safety rules including but not limited to the lockout-tagout procedure, chemical hazards and the hearing conservation program. Must have good personal hygiene and be able to practice safe work habits.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role is listed below.

               

Pay Rate or Range: $71,410.00 - $107,110.00
