Apt Resources is seeking an experienced Procurement Head to oversee procurement activities for projects within the fertilizer industry in Egypt. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for project execution. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in project procurement within the fertilizer or related process industries, strong commercial acumen, and proven leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and organizational objectives.
- Oversee end-to-end procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Manage procurement activities for fertilizer industry projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, budgets, and project schedules.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
- Lead commercial negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favorable contractual terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Review technical and commercial bids in coordination with engineering, project management, and other relevant departments.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, quality standards, and contractual compliance.
- Manage procurement budgets, cost estimates, and expenditure forecasts.
- Coordinate with project teams to identify material requirements and address procurement-related risks or delays.
- Oversee contract administration and resolve supplier disputes, claims, and delivery issues.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, applicable regulations, and project requirements.
- Lead and mentor procurement personnel while promoting efficiency and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 18–20 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within fertilizer, petrochemical, chemical processing, or other process industries.
- Extensive experience in project procurement, preferably involving large-scale industrial or EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, tendering, contract negotiation, and procurement planning.
- Experience procuring industrial equipment, plant materials, technical components, and project-related services.
- Proven ability to manage procurement budgets, cost optimization, and supplier performance.
- Strong commercial, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and relevant software applications.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work in a project-driven environment and manage multiple priorities.
