We are looking for an experienced Pricing Specialist to lead pricing strategy, deal structuring, and commercial pricing decisions across complex business opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in pricing, financial analysis, commercial negotiations, and deal desk operations, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and customer value propositions.
This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance revenue growth, profitability, competitive positioning, and customer expectations. The candidate will work closely with sales, finance, solutioning, product, and business leadership teams to develop effective pricing models, evaluate commercial proposals, and ensure profitable deal closures. Experience working with the US market and managing large, complex deals will be an added advantage.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
1. Pricing Strategy and Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive pricing strategies aligned with business objectives, revenue targets, and profitability goals.
- Evaluate market trends, competitive pricing, customer demand, and industry benchmarks to identify pricing opportunities.
- Design pricing models, frameworks, discount structures, and commercial guidelines for various products and services.
- Conduct pricing analysis to assess margins, profitability, revenue potential, and overall business impact.
- Continuously review and optimize pricing strategies based on market conditions and business performance.
2. Pricing and Commercial Analysis
- Lead pricing evaluations for strategic accounts, large opportunities, and complex commercial engagements.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support pricing decisions and business negotiations.
- Assess cost structures, deal economics, customer value, and profitability before recommending pricing proposals.
- Establish pricing governance, approval workflows, and discount policies to maintain commercial discipline.
- Identify opportunities to improve margins while maintaining competitive positioning and customer satisfaction.
3. Deal Desk Management
- Oversee deal desk activities, including pricing approvals, commercial reviews, discount assessments, and contract-related pricing considerations.
- Partner with sales and account management teams to structure competitive and profitable deals.
- Review non-standard pricing requests, evaluate commercial risks, and recommend appropriate deal structures.
- Establish standardized processes for pricing approvals, exception management, and deal documentation.
- Support negotiations for high-value contracts and strategic customer engagements.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with sales, finance, solutioning, legal, product, and leadership teams to align pricing decisions with business priorities.
- Present pricing recommendations, financial insights, and risk assessments to senior management.
- Develop pricing tools, dashboards, and reports to improve visibility into deal performance and profitability.
- Mentor team members and promote best practices in pricing strategy and commercial decision-making.
Must-Have Skills
- Extensive experience in Pricing Strategy and Pricing Management.
- Strong expertise in Deal Desk operations, commercial approvals, and deal structuring.
- Excellent financial modelling, analytical, and profitability assessment skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex pricing decisions and high-value commercial engagements.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience in solutioning and developing customized commercial proposals.
- Strong understanding of the US market, competitive landscape, and customer buying behaviour.
- Experience working with global clients and cross-functional teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- 18–22 years of relevant experience in pricing, commercial strategy, deal desk, finance, or related functions.
- A bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive data-backed pricing decisions.
