Glimpse of the Job

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research in Chemistry. The selected candidate will be responsible for writing manuscripts, developing research proposals, and helping with graduate student mentoring and group organization.  

Opportunities to Contribute

• Analyze and disseminate research findings through group meetings, manuscripts, reports, scientific publications, and presentations.
• Present research results at group meetings, conferences, and other appropriate venues.
• Provide advice and assistance to other laboratory team members, act as a mentor to students. 
• Attend scientific meetings and seminars for research enhancement.
• Keep up to date on scientific research via reading of literature, etc.
• Participate in writing grant proposals.
• Maintain group software and hardware and follow applicable safety standards. 

 Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry  

A well-qualified candidate may also possess:

• Ability to work effectively, productively, and efficiently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other members of the lab.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to exercise discretion, independent judgment and make important decisions.  

• Excellent verbal and written skills.

• Attention to detail. 

Salary: Commensurate
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
