Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Portfolio Officer to support the effective administration of Global Custody operations. In this role, you will help ensure that transactions are completed accurately, within required cut-off times and in line with quality, regulatory and risk standards. You will also contribute to operational efficiency, strong stakeholder relationships and excellent service for internal and external clients.Job Description
You will be accountable for;
- Administering transactions relating to AIS products and services.
- Monitoring transaction execution to ensure required standards are consistently met.
- Completing transactions within applicable market and operational cut-off times.
- Identifying and driving opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Applying defined quality standards and standard processes to reduce operational risk.
- Escalating unresolved issues, potential losses and client claims promptly to the Team Leader and Operations Manager.
- Identifying and escalating actual and potential risks to the Operations Manager.
- Designing and implementing appropriate risk-reduction, mitigation and avoidance measures.
- Maintaining sound controls and disciplined execution across custody processes.
- Building and maintaining effective networks across operational areas within the Absa Group.
- Maintaining strong visibility with key internal and external stakeholders, promoting the credibility and growing capabilities of the business.
- Communicating clearly and professionally with internal and external clients, both verbally and in writing.
- Supporting excellent service delivery within agreed SLAs by monitoring performance and tracking daily queues.

- A diploma or certificate at NQF Level 6.
- 5 years’ experience in custody operational processes.
- Knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements, including Strate Rules and Central Securities Depository roles across different markets.
- Understanding of domestic and global custody processes.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing environment.

Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
